For Jackson State fans

Re: For Jackson State fans....

but beans,
The beautiful Acadome is still standing. And since then, in just athletics alone, we've built a brand new football complex, a brand new baseball stadium, a brand new softball facility and we're building the crown jewel, a state of the art on campus football stadium.

since yall threw Hughes out with the wash (after all that washing he did for yall :smh:) ,what's going on at Jsu? :scared:

Truth be told, most of what you're bragging about started under Joe Reed's watch.

Re: For Jackson State fans....

Ummm is that suppose to be smack? If so, then that really makes JSU look bad by saying that it has taken them 10 yrs to do all of this improvements while Bama State has pretty much accomplished similiar goals in less time.

Dude, quit lying. Many of those projects were on the books for years. Those projects are finally coming to fruition.
Joe Reed did more for Bama State than any person in Bama State history, yet yall treated him like dirt.

This is what he contributed:

February 2, 2000, extracted 1 million dollars from Gov. Don Siegelman. From these funds, new band uniforms were purchased; 50,000 for band instruments. Athletic Weight Room was established along with the Board-Cabinet Room in Council Hall. Human Resources office was renovated

Installation of the WVAS FM radio tower

Renovation of Kilby Hall which houses WVAS-FM

The 12-Court Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center

Initiated bus repair and replacement fund

Construction of the band practice field

Purchase of new band uniforms three times

Campus expansion over 80 acres including Bel Air Community

Construction of wrought iron fence on Carter Hill Road

The Martin Luther King, Jr Dormitory

Bessie Sears Estelle Dormitory

Persuaded Governor Wallace to provide the money to pay for the Joe L. Reed Acadome

Several Parking Lots

As a City Councilman, sponsored the resolution that allowed ASU to play its football games free at Cramton Bowl

For 18 years, halted the use of a culturally biased test that prevented many of ASU's students from entering the teaching profession (Allen v. State Board of Education)

Conceived the plan for raising and matching funding for the ASU Trust for Education Excellence, which was established by Judge Harold Murphy in the Knight cases. The Funding Plan provides for individuals to establish named scholarship for themselves, or others, by contributing 10,000 or more over a ten year period. Organizations and Corporations are required to pay 25,000-100,000
Initiated the adoption of ASU Strategic land use plan with boundary lines beginning South on Carter Hill Road, East to Pineleaf Street, North to I-85 and West on South Decatur Street, back to the point of origin

Working through Sen. Bob Wilson of Walker County to get the first 475,000 for the Levi Waktins Learning Center

In 2001, Chairlady Catherine Wright appointed him to chair the Board's Committee on Finance and Property

Chaired the fund for Alabama State University Defense (FASUD). This is the fund that financed the State Higher Education Desegregation Case of Knight v. State
Through the late John Buskey, legislation was passed giving ASU and other 4-year public universities the power of eminent domain, making land acquisition easier

Initiated the purchase of over 80 acres of land around the campus, including the Bel Air Community and 400 acres in Brewton, Alabama, where Southern Norman School is situated

Working through Representatives John Knight and Bill Fuller, Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, and Speaker of the House Jimmy Clark of Barbour County got additional money to erect a Criminal Justice Center in conjunction with the Forensic Science Building

------

Shame on you Bama State folks for turning your backs on this great man from Alabama State University.:smh:

This thread goes to show what GR has been saying for years:
Fiyah is a garbage ass moderator .....the worstest of all time

Re: For Jackson State fans....

ummm, no it didn't. And if jstate83 was providing Model T type info (thanks rob), then the stuff you're saying is from the horse and buggy era. Heck, a lot of it was when I was an undergrad. :retard: And if you had an inkling of what has happened, (and it's obvious that you don't) you would have left off a helluva lot of stuff you posted. I'm especially smh@the Bel Air part. :retard::retard:
what's that ole saying about its better to be silent and thought a fool........???????

but back to the subject, I'm waiting for ole TP to weigh in on this one about Hughes. :scared:

btw, why was this thread moved?

Re: For Jackson State fans....

rob,
I thought it was moved BEFORE he posted that. Or was there an anticipation that he would post something like that?
:lol::lol:

Re: For Jackson State fans....

As I figured.
Another JSU thread has traveled to the SMACK Board.
Par for the SWACPAGE course.

MH.
This thread was doomed when the words JSU appeared in the title. Didn't get past 10 post before it turned to smack. Thats why I quit giving AS about Sports Board rules. The mods are garbage on that board.

This is the most ignorant thing you could have said. :smh:

This tells me that you don't know squat about what is going on. UNLIKE BAMMA STATE, this is just the athletic side of the equation. Try doing a little research and really see what took JSU 10 years to build. Then research some more and see what projects are started for the next 5 years and beyond.

Ya'll not even remotely in the same league with JSU in that aspect. The new student housing and Student Union built on campus cost more that your entire sports complex projects.

So what is JSU supposed to do because ya'll had to beg for money until 2008?
Go back and rebuild the same shat over again so ya'll can catch up. Go back and implode the Walter Peyton Complex and rebuild it in 2008 so ya'll can catch up? :noidea:

I know Bamma logic has always been BAMMA, but some common sense thinking and comprehension of a WELL THOUGHT OUT CAMPUS MASTER PLAN every now and then would be a welcome change over this BammaNeese thinking.

Re: For Jackson State fans....

ummmm 83,
maybe you missed the part where I already posted that it's way more than just athletics.
As far as smack on the sports board, you really shouldn't be calling that kettle black. Go back and read through this thread BEFORE it was moved.
:scared:

I'm calling the Kettle Blacker than a coal miner thats been digging coal for 2 weeks str8 with no breaks. That board is garbage. That is why I smack without even thinking about some bullshat set of rules that only JSU posters have to follow.

JSU has a thread, that mofo, as you see, get to 5 pages full of smack and then go to the smack page. The last SU thread and GRAM threads that was over there, was edited like a FOX news show. Post deleted and then in the SU case, the SU mod closed the thread after 1 damm page.

But who cares................ It's the norm.
If I want to smack on the sports board after trying to follow rules set out for everyone, I'm gonna do it. Hell, everybody else for every school from Texas to Bamm do it when JSU has a thread. Who GAS anymore. I don't. :smh:

Really? What else you got?

Re: For Jackson State fans....

If you're gonna smack over there, then why keep posting when/if somebody else does it too?

Thats all I'm saying.

Because there are a FEW posters that actually like to have a damm discussion about the Title of the thread. If you want to smack, I'm not above fugging the entire thread up. Don't matter to me.

Instead of implying that I need to stop posting on the Sports page, try this novel idea.

Try enforcing the rules evenly...................Try doing that for a change instead of comming up with the brilliant idea of not posting there. I don't GAS one way or the other but as I have pointed out, BULLSHAT reigns supreme over there.

Re: For Jackson State fans....

beans,
In the last couple of years, ASU has opened a new college of education complex (3 bldgs, I think), a new health sciences bldg, a new forensic science building, a new life sciences building, a new library, new campus gateway, new housing complex (I think its 4 bldgs that I think will open this fall), new student center. Additional plans are for a new college of arts and sciences, hotel/conference center, housing village. There is/was recent talk of moving the college of business administration to a building in downtown Montgomery. Not sure where that is now.

83,
I'm not implying anything. You say that you have decided to smack on the sports board. If thats what you choose to do, then do it. No need to keep harping on it. On every thread. Just do it. Not sure how that will fly, but if thats what you choose to do, no need keep talking/crying about what others are posting. Just do it!

What stuff are you talking about? You need to be a bit more specific because what I do know is that Reed was responsible for the Acadome funding and yall ingrates took his name off the building out of sheer spite.

Since I'm so off base, please post what things he WAS responsible for before he left and what things were in the works before he left. You can easily take credit away from the man, but try giving him some for a change.

You are just impossible to talk too. You honestly act like you so forgetful, you can't even keep up with what someone says. You got a real bad habit of putting your own words as someone elses. All that explaination about how rules are supposed to be followed and the bamma in you only heard JSTATE83 WANTS TO SMACK ON THE SPORTS PAGE. Nothing else. lawd have mercy on these negros comprehension skills.

From now on MH, save time by ASKING your question and then TYPING the answer you want to hear. That will save a lot of time. :smh:

Re: For Jackson State fans....

Yeah they hated going 8-3, but fell in love going 3-8................. Thanks Bell for proving JSU is who they thought they were...........
