Actually it's not. And if HBCUS are NOT paying attention it is going to bite them the worst.
Let take Kentucky-They will do two things.

Go after the players a Duke or North Carolina go after. Meaning Duke and North Carolina got after Michigan and so on until the kid who only the SWAC or MEAC go after is now being targeted by SMU, North Texas and mid majors.

Now the SWAC & MEAC got an issue. Who are they left to go after once you get past the guys who WANT to play at HGBCUS? Guys who would play D2? D3?

Other thing-either we see fewer one and done players-meaning more teams stay together and teams like Baylor are not winning the NCCA championship because Kentucky isn't losing players.

OR a whole new set of kids that would have been IGNORED due to guys like Scoot by the NBA are now being targeted.

Like Shaq's kid at Southern.

So yeah Scoot is getting paid NOW but he might not get the money he wants as a top pick because his choice has opened the door for someone else.
