Fight at CIAA Championship Banquet


To me this reads like a 1 on 1 fight tho .. esp since only one guy was arrested. Seems like the WSSU QB just got his azz whooped.

Apparently you didn't read the article.........5 VSU players beat him and sent him to the hospital and bad enough to the extent that he would have not been able to play Saturday.

There is no validation to that. It seems like there were 5 VSU players in the bathroom NOT 5 VSU players fighting. The only thing we know for certain is that it was ONE azz whoopin.
 
Winston Salem's 9-0 QB that got beaten up used to play for Texas Southern. Why didn't he stay at TxSo?

WSSU quarterback attacked by 5 Virginia State players

"Rudy Johnson, Winston-Salem State University’s starting quarterback, was beaten up by five Virginia State football players during the CIAA football banquet Friday afternoon, according to multiple sources."

the others were the lookouts

BTW: the Volleyball Championship was also cancelled its was to be VSU @WSSU

Ruby was taked to the hospital for observation and has been released with trauma to one eye
(hopefully not permanent).

You can't always believe what you read. What sources? The other 4 VSU players? There has not been ONE concrete statement saying that 5 guys jumped him and the fact that ONE guy was arrested supports that. The other four just had ring side seats. But at least you have a Valley dude co-signing you.

We all know that reporters don't always have the best in mind for "us".

Asberry inherited him from the Cole regime (Cole and Rudy Johnson Sr were teammates at Texas Southern) and gave him a chance to play QB last season but Asberry wasn't pleased with his performance and was going to move him to receiver but Rudy was adamant to stay at QB.

Congrats on the great season WSSU & Rudy. It's unfortunate someone couldn't see your potential when put in the proper position.

Seems like the TxSU tranfer (Johnson) beat out the Grambling transfer (Carrothers) for the starting job after the first couple of games. Interesting.
 
Rudy told one of our alums last night that they were trying to break his arm. It was in fact five players but he only recognized the running back (the one that was detained).

I like your new QB better, but Rudy has balled this year.
