This Black Sheep track appropriately fits this thread I think.

if the burger is good, she shouldnt need the the Fat ho to get them in the door in the first place. Word of mouth is a bish!

Number reason we don't make it in business is thoughts like yall. She thought outside the box. If she makes a lick up front, it will give her cash to sustain and take her business to higher places. Cash flow is the name of the business. Not what uppity folks who aren't going to support your business either way.

Y'all ain't missed no point. If your mother or sister or daughter wanted to name their business Fat Ho ____ you'd be doing the happy, happy, joy, joy dance? Naw. You'd be like, "WTF you name it that for?" :xeye:

I heard she went to Jackson State. :lmao:

Actually I agree with you. We raise all kinds of hell because hip hop "artists" call women derogatory terms in their music but we embrace this woman who has used the term. Suppose she had named it N _ _ _ _ R Burger? Personally, I found it offensive and I am not prude by any stretch of the imagination.

p.s. I heard she went to Jackson State too :lmao:
Well, if she can take a product and sell it and make money, then I dont doubt that she came from J-State.

Yeah, 'cause she know folks are attracted to the lowest common denominator. Same thing with music, TV shows and movies. They make a killing off sheep.

Why should restaurants be any different?

That is life. Why stay broke and poor, when you came come up? It is called the survival of the fittest. Only the strong survives.

And if she can make money off herself by calling herself a ho, then who are we to complain? Axel?

That is not the standard we should want to set in our community for our people. We don't want our young girls to think the only way they can be successful in this world is to degrade themselves or be associated with anything derogatory.

And the sad thing is if she didn't name her restaurant Fat Ho, she wouldn't be in the news at all.

Much like Charlie Sheen and Chris Brown are in the news for acting out and speaking foolishness. Sheen turned his outlandish rants into millions at the expense of us. He's making millions off Twitter, and he has only had an account for a few weeks.

He's going to be paid thousands of dollars for agreeing to do one-man "shows" across the country. Last time I checked, he has never been known as a standup comedian.

Brown got more inquires for his new album when he threw a B.F. following his appearance on GMA.

The most popular songs in the world and among our youth are crap. Straight crap.

Snooki and the Jersey Shore cast get paid thousands of dollars an episode for partying, having one-night stands, getting drunk and being foolish on TV.

I know some people are applauding this young lady for getting attention for the businesses, but it came at the expense of a derogatory connotation. And that's the American' way.

And we wonder why the media doesn't do more constructive stories about things happening in our communities. Why should they when we are attracted to drama and garbage?

People want to talk about the dumbing down of America. Well, this is exhibit 1 million right here.

:lecture:.............But you know black folk though.

Bet there will be protest over the letters HO like it's the end of the world..
Sad part is the main ones raising hell are not even people that intended to be her customers. Every damn thing is "harmful to the kids". Kids that should be taught by their parents in the first place. Not a sign on the top of a burger barn. :smh:

Hey, the lady is calling herself a ho. Not Chris Brown or Charlie Sheen. She didnt call someone else a ho; she called herself one. Why is it that you have a problem with that? If she had called herself a beauty queen, then you would have something to say about that. Leave her be.

And just where did you get she was calling anyone in the "community" a FAT HO by namming a buger shop FAT HO burger. If people in the community as PARENTS would teach their little girls that she is a business woman, there would be no problem. I get sick of hearing that crap about someone else teaching "our little girls" blah, blah, blah.

People always complaining about our communities when the reality is, you drive through our communities, they are run down with no business. The very people complaining are the very people that have not come in and set up one damm thing in that community. Bet they have not invested one dime in that community. She has so let her get her hustle on. :smh:

White guys in Arizona named their restaurant the "Heart Attack Grill" and had a 575lb white boy doing the commercials for their oversized burgers. Nobody complained about them doing an injustice to the community over the name of their burger shop.

BTW:
The 575lb guy died from complications of the flu about a 3 weeks ago.

Well I guess she calling herself a ho and no one else makes it much more acceptable then I suppose? Yep, we call live with that. Look, I enjoy the idea of a young entrepreneur. There needs to be more of them.

However, we have to get out of this mindset of catering to the lowest common denominator. We are so much better than that to rely on these gimmicks to make money. That is my problem with it. You want to talk about if she called herself beauty queen I would have said anything about it. Yeah, I probably would be more receptive of that.

I think you need to direct that comment to the FOX News station that profiled her business. Would they have done a story about this restaurant if it was named the beauty queen? I don't think so.

Oh, and just because Hooters or other businesses have not been talked about doesn't mean I agree with those either.

That is the problem. We a too busy trying to make a hustle instead of being progressive leaders in our communities.

If she was that confident in her product, she didn't have to attach the word Ho to it knowing full well what that word means. I guess if she named her business N-word Burger or B**** Burger you wouldn't have a problem with that either as long as she was getting her hustle on and providing a business in her community, right?

And I don't like the idea that a 500-pound man would name a joint Heart Attack Grill, knowing full well eating that type of food contributes to health problems.

And you say parents should teach their kids X,Y,Z but how can that be done when 72 percent of all black children are born to single moms.

Some 50 percent of Hispanic children are born to single moms. We have a story up on this site about young men and teenagers -- some of them with children themselves -- gang raping an 11-year-old girl.

It is so easy for kids to tune out parents these days with TV, the Internet, texting, Facebook, Twitter and music. Nobody really communicates formally any more.

It's funny how "our people" want to be looked at and percieved as one thing...yet, glorify the hell out of all of the things that contribute to the negative stereotypes we fight tooth and nail against. Just endorsing heathenisms to no end...cuz, it's fun and tickles us pink...

Maybe, if I knew what her ultimate goals for her franchise really were, and how far past the initial shock and aww of the namesake she was thinking, I'd be more receptive. I mean, even if her goal were to become a multi-chained restuarant...you know how good those burgers would have to be to be able to get around the negative light shined on that marquee?..:retard: Not now...but, eventually. You'd have to da*n nere have your customers skeet'n on themselves from eating your burgers, to balance out "Fat Ho" when it comes to making the money most owners in the resturant business are talk'n about.
