Espy Awards

Drew Brews ... Athlete of the Year......

I would like to go on record and say that the Chicago Blackhawks got hosed. Patrick Kane should have won for Best Championship Performance, considering he scored the Stanley Cup Final game-winning goal against the Flyers.

Dustin Byfuglien should have won for Breakthrough Athlete. He had five game-winning goals in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Best NHL Players should have been Johnny Towes. Best team should have been the UConn women. I guess 78 straight wins don't mean anything.

I don't understand how U.S. soccer won any award since they only won one game in the World Cup. We're no. 13!, We're no. 13!

Team USA represents the entire country, and that shot made the whole country go crazy.

I agree that UCONN women should have been the best team, but when you think about it, has a college team ever won the best team award?

Scoring one goal, even the game winning one, doesn't by itself make for the best championship performance, but I see your point, Drew Brees only completed 82% of his passes in the Super Bowl. I still don't see how you could argue with the selection of Chris Johnson for breakthrough athlete when he set multiple NFL records and joined some very select company in a few other categories. Besides, were either of those guys were up for an award? I agree with you about UConn but no one cares about women's basketball.

I was being sarcastic about the Blackhawks. But UConn should have won for best team, though.
