Oh!

That's "Can't Hide Love", bruh. :)

Actually, it is Love's Holiday. It is ONE of my favorites, along with
Africano, Sun Goddess, and Devotion.

Actually Ntelekt, I couldn't remember the exact title. but this is the song I was talking about. Is it the same as "Can't Hide Love"? Yep bruh, those were the days.

LOVE'S HOLIDAY Lyrics

Maurice White & Skip Scarborough

Would you mind if I touch,
if I kiss, if I held you tight
in the morning light
Would you mind if I said how I felt tenderly tonight
again cause

I never ever felt this way in my heart before
Love HAS FOUND IT'S WAY in my heart tonight

Would you mind if I looked
into your eyes till I'm hypnotized
and I lose my pride
Would you mind if I make love to you till I'm satisfied
again cause

I never ever felt this way in my heart before
Love HAS FOUND IT'S WAY in my heart tonight

bababa
bababa bababa bababa ba ba
ba ba ba ahh
bababa
bababa bababa bababa ba ba
ba ba ba ahh

Once agian cause
I never ever ever felt this way in my heart before because
Love HAS FOUND IT'S WAY in my heart tonight
once again cause

I never ever ever felt this way in my heart before because
Love HAS FOUND IT'S WAY in my heart tonight

Sorry, dude.

I was wrong, too...:smh:
I was thinking "Love's Holiday" but typed Can't Hide Love.

Alot of people called it "Would You Mind", and to be honest...I don't blame them. :)

Maurice White is STILL the Man!!!

Does anyone else like:

Between them and Maze Feat. Frankie Beverly!!! smh

Amazing!!!!
Maze is a super group. But, I still think that EWF was a better band when they had Maurice White leading the band. It would be nice if Frankie and the boys would give us something new to listen to. They probally have been on tour 10 times since thier last new alblum was released.

They are the Greatest of All Time in my opinion. As a young trumpet player growing up and being a Jukebox alum my favorite tunes may not be their most popular but ones we played in HS and college. I thought I would be a Phoenix Horn member one day. LOL.

The SU Circle and Star drill was done to Hearts to Heart when I was in the Jukebox. That was a super band cut. We blew the isht out of that song.

Also In the Stone, Getaway, September, Lady Sun, Evolution Orange, Let's Groove..... Got to get you into my Life..... I can go on and on.

Head to Sky is a classic.........

I have seen them back in the day in their prime and recently without Maurice who of course has the Parkinson's. But if you never saw them in the 80s then you missed a treat. Their shows back then was second to none. Frankie B and Maze have energy and keep the crowd in it. But EWF had illusions, explosions and all kinds of stuff integrated into their shows back in the day. Just off the chain.

I still think their HEAD TO THE SKY album was the best. But my favorite song from them is Happy Feelings.

Thames:

Ironically, the DEMO version of Love's Holiday IS in fact called "Would You Mind"! :D
I don't think it was released on the original recording...but you can now get it on certain versions of the cd.

pbla:

I would choose GRATITUDE as their strongest album...they had so many hits from that one.
ALL N ALL would run a close 2nd IMHO. :)

BEST EWF album is ALL-N-ALL

:hat:

All-in-All was a good album, but it was not close to GRATITUDE - which may be the #2 Pop/Funk album of all time after Songs In The Key Of Life. But...this is and EWF thread.

GRATITUDE:
1. Introduction
2. Africano/Power
3. Yearnin' Learnin'
4. Devotion
5. Sun Goddess
6. Reasons
7. Sing A Message To You
8. Shining Star
9. New World Symphony
10. Interlude #1
11. Sunshine
12. Sing A Song
13. Gratitude
14. Celebrate
15. Interlude #2
16. Can't Hide Love
17. Serpentine Fire/Saturday Nite/Can't Hide Love/Reasons

They are my favorite all-time band. It is a shame to say, but there will be no other like them. My favorite aspect of this group is their arrangements. I sit and wonder about how musically DEEP the person is that wrote those songs. I'm not talking about the lyrics, I'm talking about the arrangement, especially the horn.

My favorite EWF songs are probably the songs we played while in the band at UAPB (Reasons, In The Stone, etc.)

Has anyone ever seen the A&E special on EWF?

A lot longer than that......

Maze followed in 1993 with Back to Basics, another hit album that confounded critics who felt that the group's best days were behind it. Inexplicably, it became the band's final release, despite hitting the Soul top 5 and the Pop top 40. Since then, Maze, now consisting of Beverly, keyboardist Carl Wheeler, bass guitarist Robin Duhe, and percussionists McKinley "Bug" Williams and Roame, has been silent on record, save a 1996 Anthology.

Maze & Frankie Beverly ain't got to ever make another album...they are set for life, w/their tours. Nobody wants to hear any new music from them, anyway...we want all those old school hits song, at the concerts. This is coming from a true #1 Maze fan.
