Do opposites really attract?

When it comes to you and your mate or the person or persons you are involved with do you like them to be some what opposite of you? Or do you prefer someone exactly like you?
 
I think they do attract one another, but over time, the relationships that last tend to gravitate towards the middle.

Me and hubby are alike in some ways, but on total opposite ends on certain things. I think there's a good balance between the both of us.

Hey, a nice face, round booty, and tig ole bitties will make most peeps overlook a lot of a woman's flaws. Just like a million dollars will turn a mofos receding hairline into a part on how a man is perceived by a woman.

Women will always deal with men they have no business with because they are being "worked out". Drug through the mud mentally and financially, but get "towe down" in the bedroom. I'm happy for the dude if he can get it like that.

Im attracted to Nice sistas with personality who can make me laugh and cook. Period.

I always find women that are total opposite of me that find me attractive.
i.e. - Light skinned, extremely short or extremely tall, model types, dumb chicks.

i dont worry about someone being exactly like me, cause they don't exist. so technically they can't be nothing but opposite. this is why we try to deal with people who have common interest because naturally we are different so we are looking for that neutral zone. with that said, i don't desire to be with anyone who is too much like me cause that household would be in total disarray. :lol:

Well the reason I asked this question is that at a gathering over the holidays it was a discussion about opposites being together, but what confused me is that both men/women said they wanted someone opposite yet they both kept contradicting themselves to me with some of the stuff they were saying. Like all the women who claim to be feisty say they don?t want a man who is laid back and passive, yet they didn?t want a man aggressive like them. The men kept saying they didn?t want a woman aggressive like them, but yet they didn?t want a passive lady either. My point was that if you want someone opposite of you that means it?s the lateral. If you feisty or aggressive that means you want someone laid back. and if you are laid back you want the lateral. Common ground seems to be a hard thing for people to find these days I guess.

Now that you broke it down like that I understand. However you are assuming the women in question wants the Mandingo in question to be her man. Maybe she just likes him for the action and has no parts of him any other time. :pimp:
 
I don't want my exact opposite. I want someone who is their own person, has their own interests, but knows the importance of compromise.
 



I'm 6'4" and for some reason most of the women I have dated have been around 5 feet-zip". The shortest I've dated was 4'11". Sistah girl had it goin on like a pot of neck bones with some black-eyed peas on the side. Sistah was cut with whole lot of booty. I teased her saying if your legs were not cut and shapely you wouldn't be able to walk with all that azz. Aww man sistah had some shapely big legs for her height.

Opposites sometimes do attract though.

She knew I wanted to have children. She told me that she could not have anymore kids because when she gave birth to her second child.. she barely escaped death during birth. I forgot what condition she had. But anyway such as life.

And it's not just short women who like tall men. I'm 5'9, and I LOVE tall men! :nod:

In most of those cases, the guy is the opposite from the woman. She can't get him to do anything that she likes, boo-hoos to her friends about how she is mis-treated, but always runs back. I've heard of low self esteem, but dag.

I know for sure that this is true with women. The only thing I know about men is that if he knows how to keep his woman quiet or not.
