DMV Folks, is Muriel Bowser the Mayor for DC?

Seems like she believes somewhat in Gentrification. That will not sit well with Old DC residents. I have also heard rumors she wants to up the restrictions on adult entertainment (in DC, it's already illegal to touch dancers).

I predict however DC will get a republican mayor within the next decade. Old DC may be gone forever.

I am a Muriel Bowser supporter. Hosted a meet and greet for her at my place back in January... Let's go green team. DC will not have a republican mayor anytime soon. The city will have a white mayor maybe but these white kids who are moving to DC are super, super liberal. I used to live in NOMA and all of my neighbors were die hard, PETA card carrying liberals. My apartment complex now is filled with nothing but single white women out walking their poodles.

DC has changed a lot. A lot of long time DC residents actually hate gentrification. DC sort of reminds me of the Jackson Metro area social wise (work in the main city but live in the Burbs) with the difference being the white folks are moving within DC the city itself. It's going to be real interesting. Gray is pretty much done.

BTW, I burned a few cats on Monday talking about Mississippi's Education. I pulled up National Statistics and they got quiet...:lmao:. Won't lie Pop, I have to constrain the Mississippi in me sometimes cause you just want to fight. I am still in shock though that DC schools were that poor. Even when I'm taking government courses through my job (on the job training) even adult DC folks seem to have this apathy about being in a classroom setting.

I think she will be a good fit for DC. My concern is that with gentrification that most blacks are going to be priced out of DC. I already see it happening now on New York and Florida Aves. These areas have been taken over by white residents.

Florida Ave, headed toward HU is totally different now. I see white folks walking their dogs, hanging out at the park. Totally different area from three years ago.

This is definitely true. I am thinking of buying in Southwest DC or in Takoma park area
