You don't even know what you typed 2mins ago brah and you're still making excuses. lol Have you paid attention to what PV has been doing the last few years? Do you think Grambling will beat us next year? Here, let me let you in on something. If all goes as planned (not trying to look ahead but if all goes well this fall and our staff is intact as it has been the last 5yrs), we'll possibly return 10 of 11 starters on offense and possibly the entire defense. :| Did you know that? We redshirted our ENTIRE 2009 recruited class who'll be ready next year academically and athletically. We have a few names of "note" in wait who'll be cleared blah blah blah I'm not saying anything else. :emlaugh:

Get a clue. Y'all falling further and further behind while PV has built a program. Your "name" and "branding" means nothing because the entire landscape has changed and y'all didn't change w/ it.:clap::clap:

Dude please be quite, because you still haven't won a championship, yet. The only thing y'all own is the longest losing streak in Division I-AA history...

Good luck with the 2009 class you need it...

Stay asleep and keep quoting "history" and what happened in 1990 something 1980 something ,etc. We'll keep pushing to "greatness." (pun very much intended lol) Lastly, that "history" you're trying to quote didn't do anything to help the team win huh? I didn't know we played "history" lol on the field @ the Cotton Bowl. The best thing you could do today is get drunk like you're about to and cuss/fuss w/in yourself over the fact that for the next 363 days, you gotta' deal w/ the fact that PV put a foot in your team's ass. :| Marinate. Rotate on it. Screw it. Do whatever you want to in order to appease yourself "angry" man. :argue2::upset:

BTW, I think Broadway and staff are great coaches w/ great schemes, for what it's worth.

So based on what you say TSU should be the best team in the SWAC, based on location. And wtf are you talking about bad location, it's right off I-20 in between to major cities in Louisiana. And I don't think PV has a better campus, have you been to Gram lately? I do agree that they have a better Coach but that was my point from the beginning, we made the wrong decision in choosing a coach.

Dude, ur clearly retarded. In sports anyone can lose on any given night. Hell look how Washington did USC. It is quite laughable how you are basing this year of the GSU/PV squads to ancient past ones. In case you forgot this PV team was 9-1 last season and probably woulda won last year if it wasn't for the turnover fest.

Methinks you need to just unplug ur computer and go replay the game on Xbox and take out ur fury on PV or something. You lost to POTENTIALLY 2009 SWAC champs, no shame in that. Go kick rocks...

Believe me, I actually realized that this weekend after the PV loss. We're not a bad team but something is missing this year that we had going for us last in our championship run.

Last year we were focused and on a mission to reclaim the title. That loss in the 2007 SCG did something to the GMen... They came back in 2008 ready whup e'rybody's azz...They got mad and wanted to show the world that they were indeed the best team in the SWAC. This year we returned too many starters to not be playing better than we are right now. So I don't think it's the talent that is missing... It's that inward stuff... the intrinsic motivation. That fire deep down inside that makes you wanna go out and beat the hell out of everybody... Similar to that season when JState came to Gram undefeated in the SWAC(2006, i believe). They made the unfortunate mistake of disrepecting the "G" during pre-game warm-ups.... The G-Men were pissed. Jackson got the crap beat outta them (and we went 3 -8 that year with plenty of talent).

Our offensive schemes are predictable, elementary and not worth a dayum. Much like that of the Dallas Cowboys. In my UN-humble opinion.

Right. I started to say something about all that but I erased it. Can't speak to folx who aren't in the know. :smh: :shame: BTW, nice pix of parts of a nice campus in your siggy S96. :swink: lol

Let him ramble. I'm enjoying it. lol

WOW!!!!!

I always figured there was some dummy out there that didn't realize PV was sorry due to being a team of 100% walk ons for like a decade.

Dude you do realize any team put on an equal starting basis can go out and recruit, practice hard, get good coaches, put together a program and beat any other team right? Dude ain't nothing sorry about GSU that I saw on Saturday. PV just finally had most things clicking and it wasn't any overnight come up. This started a few seasons ago. Even when PV had their last losing season I could see this day coming because they never lost by more than a touchdown with the exception of one game. Every season has brought improvement and now it looks like we got to that competitive level with everybody in the SWAC. Aint no reason to hate man. It makes the SWAC more interesting to have another team that can come in any day and kick some arse.

BTW, I think Broadway and staff are great coaches w/ great schemes, for what it's worth.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I respect yours I just don't agree with it. But being a former coach and spending countless hours breaking down films and schemes, in my opinion he is not a great coach. First of all people use the term or word great to loosely. Broadway hasn't accomplished anything to be crowned great, hell to me neither Spears nor Doug has done anything to be considered great. Eddie is Great, everyone else is below that, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. And Broadway is average at best. He is fundamental and basic and he executes those two aspects of the game well. But it is nothing complicated or innovative about his style or schemes. So based on the comment that you made about him being a great coach is only proves to me that you are a novice at best when it comes to your knowledge of the game of football. But at least I know where you stand and how I should react to your comments. Let me know when you want to have a real discussion about Broadways skill and ability.

d'tone, you are way off base. PV has been improving over the last few years and have had us in their "scope" for the last few years. They have a helluva coach and were better prepared for this game. As others have pointed out, PV has beaten all of the big boys in the conf over the last few years. Losing to "THIS" PV team is nothing to be embarrased about.

Dude, your argument is highly flawed. You can't FAIRLY compare current coaches to Robinson, due to the fact that integration wasn't as prevalent as it is today.
Quality Black athlestes didn't have the opportunities to attend highly touted D-1A schools like they do today. That's a major factor that you failed to mention. If Robinson was coaching today, he'd have a much more difficult time recruiting the caliber of players he was able to recruit in the '70's and '80's. Integration really hurt the recruiting ability of all HBCU's.

HBCU coaches will never be able to recruit quality players with the likes of Robert Brazile, Buck Buchanon, Walter Payton, Vernon Perry, Jimmy Smith and other players of their caliber, simply because the amount of money offered by D-1A schools and integration has weaked their ability to do so.

So for you to outright diss Broadway like you've done is not looking at the situation with logic or fairness.

No I didn't forget and I'm not taking anything away from PV, it’s just that I think that PV is PV no more no less. When Spears was there he put 53 points on y'all during a losing season (3-8). And since Broadway has come to GSU he has struggled with them. PV has made some strides to get better but lets be honest they didn't make that big of a change in one year, referring to Spears last year and Broadways first year. This guy just doesn't respect the tradition of GSU or really respect is own career, there is no way that he should not have the best players in the SWAC. He should have been recruiting like a mad man as soon as he touched the red clay dirt of North LA but he didn't. He was very docile and lethargic (in his recruiting) unlike Spears, so for whatever reasons he has done a poor job of recruiting and it has come to fruition. Coaching is bigger than calling plays during game time. It’s a 24/7 job, that takes the utilization of all your resources to get players. Hell why do your think LSU and UT (or any major D1 school) have such big booster clubs because the coaches understand that it takes a collective unit to run the more elite programs. I’m basically saying that if recruiting is an aspect of coaching how in the hell can you all crown this guy as a great when hasn’t done anything substantial in this area. You can’t win the Kentucky Derby with donkeys I don’t care how good he is trained or how good the jockey is riding him. And that’s what this guy seems to be trying to do. Case and point name me one Broadway recruit that has been a stand out guy or even difference maker. And just food for thought, a good coach would have brought some players with him.

Speak for yourself, my brother... I haven't felt this bad since 9/11...

Me too Buck.... To hell with all the other dumbschit. PV is on a damn mission. I ain't saying they are just better than us but they damn sho played better (from start to finish) Saturday night. And for the record, statistically speaking, Dillion had one of his better passing games Saturday. But when you wait till the second half to decide you wanna win.... well damn....you setting yourself up to lose. That's where I have the problem.

Spears, God bless him, is not at Gram. Broadway is. Let's move on.

AMEN to that sistergirl..even tho I got a few text messages that said FIRE BROADWAY..I was like damn, but the haters r out there..lets move on to Annie Mae and see if we can make her eat the cake....

True but I never said that he would, but I do think that he should be able to recruit a Jake Reed, Trumaine Johnson, Scotty Anderson, Curtis Ceasor, Jason Hatcher, Fakhir Brown, Andrew Gloover, Randy Hymes, do you want me to continue? So your logic is flawed my brother you didn't attend Grambling to I understand your defeatist attitude but don't try to pass it on to me like the swine flu. Keep that to yourself... Now go take your antibotics and blow your nose and make sure to use lots of hand sanitizer.

even Eddie Robinson couldn’t do or didn’t do in his wonder years and that’s lose to PV. I have never been so embarrassed in all my life. …

Stay embarrassed

Don't take it personal, homie... I never said Eddie Robinson never lost to PV what I said was that he didn't loose to them at the end of his career. Did I lie? ...

Where did you say "at the end of his career"?

You have a good point there, but my point is that if you recruit the way you suppose to that level of complacency never sets in. Because the player in front knows that if he messes up you have a guy foaming at the mouth waiting for a chance to get in and take his position. But that’s all coaching…

Your monolithic tone indicates that you lack true football expertise and of course, I have no choice but to accept your "c**n" logic because you truly don't understand today's brand of college football. :) Lastly, was Eddie "great" his last 4-5 years? Oh, I get it. "Great" enough to whip a scholarshipless PV football team consistently throughout the nineties huh? lol

:emlaugh: You're funny. Too bad Broadway doesn't have too many folx who recognize what he's accomplished thusfar. :read: I'm done w/ this tired drivel because it serves us zero purpose. Go off and be mad and liquored up all by yourself or w/ the others in your "haternation." :emlaugh:

dagreightone---> :argue2: Arguing w/in himself. lol

GSU-32
PVU-35; KJ Black, Jr 2 TDs via air and 2 TDs running it down your throat lol + we had 170 yds rushing for the game. :retard:

Are you serious? Dude you just want to argue...

Prop 48 was the friend of the SWAC in the 80s.....trust me on that as the power teams then took advantage of players who weren't coming there if they were eligible. These days, those kids go JUCO as props sitting out aren't as common anymore. Also, weren't many teams playing college football on the 1-A level and recruiting wasn't as national so a damn good kid with no grades was easy to get once the 1-A slots were filled.

Our HBCUs now have admission standards, can't recruit a prop anymore and hope they survive a year. You got to beg admissions now just to admit a prop if they don't meet regular standards...and is it worth it as the standards aren't hard to reach to begin with?

Also...go into a home and recruit now....a "name" may get you into the house but kids are way different now....

lastly, the rural schools are victims of their own success.....lets be real....the students matriculate back to the city in another state close by, raise their kids in suburban areas and then kids will tend to stay closer to home if you have a nice campuus they can thrive at....

Those are your quotes in this thread.........

SMH.......:noidea:

Dude this kind of thinking is the reason Florida State is losing to USF. History and Tradition does not win games. Players and coaches do. PV has a decent coach, better campus location(Houston) and a good recruiter.

Gram is not the GRAm you guys think it is. Bad location(like Valley and Alcorn),living off the past, no fan base, very few home games...etc..etc..

PV is the new it team. Broadway has to prove he can recruit. He lucked up last season but that run for your life chuck the ball was not really an offense it was a happen stance. He was sticking with sorry Tillman until Dillion showed out. Now they trying to make him a pocket passer. Oh yeah you have sub par receivers and a suspect defensive backfield.

PV isn't located in Houston... :noidea: There isn't shii around PV.

And location has nothing to do with recruiting. Doug recruited while at Grambling with the same circumstances and location. There is not a recruit in the state of Texas that would chose PV over Grambling if Grambling contacted that recruit. Broadway and staff have to do a better job recruiting because Grambling don't have the talent it once had. Yes, PV beat Grambling but, I think letting go Spears was the right move. Broadway is a good coach, but the recruting is not up to par. And JSU folks, I know that it feels good to speak bad about Grambling. But please remember that your azz is located in country ass no speaking english Mississippi, and your team is hot garbage.
