Revolving Doors at Grumbling Continues.

Football America Times

After being an accomplice to abysmal showings on national television at the hands of Southern University Jaguars, embattled Grambling State Coach Doug Williams tendered his resignation. His forced resignation is a product of a concerted effort by alums to overthrow the former Superbowl MVP much like a coup in a third world country.

Doug stated, "I have friends in high places and called in a couple of favors. The public can expect to find out about my future endeavors on 2/12/04. I would like all of my SWAC fans to know that it is a relief not to face Dean Pete in another Bayou Classic. Please know that I love Grambling and the SWAC very much but must move on." Williams becomes the second Grambling legend to be beaten into submission and then run. His predecessor Eddie Robinson also ran from Hall of Fame and Southern University legend Arnett "Ace" Mumford.

When asked about disgruntled Grambling alums Williams stated, "I gave 100% and it was just not good enough for some. I even brought the Wing T back and called it The Robinson. It just goes to show you what losing to your in state rival can do to job security." The former Tampa Bay Q.B. is believed to have land a job with the Buc's organization and a multi million dollar endorsement contract with chap stick.

SWAC Conference and The SWAC Page Network have issued a joint statement regarding this breaking story. "Our condolences to the Grambling state family for this bleak day in your storied history. While acknowledging that Southern University has garnered 10 out of the last 12 commissioner cups and 4 out of the last 7 SWAC titles, Coach Williams presence was an intangible asset that no other conference could boast about."

SOG, MikeBigg, GSUper and the rest of the Cartel a sub committee of the Grumbling Alumni Federation is under 24 hour suicide watch. Charter Hospital has issued a statement contending that GSUper is whom they are most concerned with. He is trying to run away from the hospital and constantly mumbles that he is going back in exile.

...i'm sorry but there has to be some truth to this.

I think the SU things really got to Doug. Think about it...no matter how many games you win every year...you still get your arse beat annually by your rival...smh. Doug wasn't gonna leave Grambling....if he had plans of leaving he wouldn't have fired all of those folks.....He just took the first offer out of there.

It's still a good move for him though. :(

I can almost understand JRock's attempt at smack, but NoiseTalka you need to your azz whipped for co-signing this foolishness. If you don't turn loose soon, JRock is gonna be singing saprano real soon!! How in the hell can a front office position with an NFL team making more money be considered "the first job available" or whatever foolishness you posted.

Pete has had good success against Doug but only an idiot would seriously think losing to SU would prompt Doug to leave as opposed to seeing that this was something too good to pass up.
There's not a coach in the league who wouldn't have jumped at this chance. I'd imagine that most coaches would take front office job in the Arena league over a SWAC coaching job.

It's unfortunate that there's no other coaches with the personal name recognition or a school with enough status to even warrant an interview in the NFL Haterade is flowing up in this mugg!

That arrow is pointing down toward Lake Charlie. Go ahead and break the news pneck :D

Doug's hiring is great news for Saints fans like myself.

It's Doug's personnel evaluation skills that had Octavius Bond starting at CB....

Look for Bond in the Bucs' secondary next season.....

That would really help Vick and my Falcons a great bit. P. Price may be selected to the Pro Bowl off that one game.

Let me get this straight, he fires one coach supposedly because of conduct unbecoming of the profession, :lmao: he fires a few more and reassign one because it just didn't work as he would have like, he hires one to help build "HIS" defense so "HE" can get ready to make a return to Bham. and he was willing to let who some think is his best coach leave for Uapb.

Oh yeah he was planning this all along :lmao:

Hell he called in a favor because he saw the writing on the wall...kool. But you know damn well doug name has never been up for a front office job, he wants to be a D1A coach.

Don't forget i know hosea personally, trust me i know the deal and so will the rest of the TSPN family soon. :lmao:

Then you know his days was numbered. Say what you want Doug knew change is coming so he got the "L" up outta Dodge.

Man this is a funny thread.

I actually feel sorry for GSU because we know the University of La system is not going to give a new GSU coach 135K. They did it for Doug but don't expect it to happen again when no other I-AA coach in that system makes this kind of money.

i.e.. the head coaching job at GSU just got a little less desirable.
