DaContinent is absolutely right on it. The rest of you copy-cat, ghetto ***** bands need to shut the "L" up. All j-state does is copy tunes from the "World Famed" (YES, WE STILL ARE, AND YOU ARE NOT), and change the letter from a "G" to a "j". Can we not get some originality around here, "sonic bloom"? Create your own stuff and quit trying to make it on ours. SUcks "inhuman juke box" wish they had all the fame we have. You try to outblow everybody with all your brass and sound like a bunch of house cats in heat. That ghetto-***** ocean of soul (ain't nothing but a mudhole)....you are truly a sorry piece of work. In all my years, I have never witnessed the losing team's band play their alma mater at the same time that the winning team's band plays theirs. That, and so many other examples, goes to show what classless band directors exist in the SWAC. Hats off to GSU's Dr. Larry Pannell, the master of class, who was taught by other "Masters of Class" before him. And last but not least, it would behoove all you swac bands to stop playing "neck". We, GSU World Famed, wrote the book on that one. Be original.

I said what I meant and I meant what I said. And before I take it back, I'll add more to it. Truth be told, none of you sorry, copy-cat ***** bands are what you used to be. However, as fate would have it, you're still haters. Instead of bumping your traps about how GSU is living off history, spend some time making some history of your own. Go do something tremendous and build a legacy for yourselves. At least we have a "history". It's not our fault that you're not known outside the SWAC.

Matter of fact...WE(TSU) started to play our song before grambling soory band got up.

Plus...we not going to talk about that bull****t you all pull at the start of half time!

The Ocean of Soul played and marched to and danced to "Neck" first. And playing school songs at the same time has happened at many games numerous times. Why are you trying to snap on the Ocean so hard? You, from that forest of trash? YOU?
Basically, lady, you're reaching AND trippin'. Relax. The Ocean didn't diss your school. Now, you've had numerous gramblingites DISS Texas Southern University for
1) being a younger school
2) not having as large of a stadium
3) not marching and gushing for more fans of the opey persuasion and
4) simply not being you....in the WF.
Sweep around yo' dusty porch FIRST.

^ Apparently this chic was not at last year's matchup. Grambling played their AM while the Ocean played our AM. And if I recall correctly, we actually won that match... (thanx spears for making us keep wilson :rollingeyes:)
 
Yall make it hard for a brother to keep his mouth closed on this one. Now, this is all spewing from the JSU GSU match up. Let me just note that for all you other muthafudgers the only reference you have to this is the Marching Network. Ask anybody who witnessed it (myself included) ask JSU band members, ask anybody. The GAME: these two were going at it. Fuc 5th quarter. These two were neck and neck. And to put this Texas Southern thing to rest. They supposedly had a good battle there. I do agree with ol girl on one thing. All yall who run to these forums to bash a band (who if it were not for them, half of yall wouldn't even be known) should sweep around your own dirty porch first. I love GSU because they (unlike the majority of the SWAC) are original. You don't see them immitating the sound of the Human Jukebox. :angry: I think yall need to take care of yall programs. Not all of yall are just perfect. Personally, in all history I respect four SWAC bands:
GSU
JSU
SU
UAPB

The rest of you try so hard to do like the first three that you miss the originality marker. SO, sweep around your own front porch.

You are right about somethings. This all started between JSU/GSU. Texas Southern did not have anything to do with it. They were brought into this by someone defending GSU. At that point, others from Texas Southern had to defend theirs. Trust me, our program is being taken care of, and we do not have to prove anything to anyone. I doubt that they are trying to be like anyone other than who they are "Ocean of Soul."

......I'm just addressing the comment about bands imitating other bands, specifically SU, JSU, GSU.


Please understand, if thats all someone is used to, doesn't suggest them to be the trendsetters. Some of yall that has never left your state need to be silent when it comes to bands.

As far as Bama st............we imitate no one. Any real bandsmen that know about bands will tell you that we are ORIGINAL. Our whole style. Not to mention, our program (Mighty Marching Hornets) was started long before a lot of the mentioned programs. So don't be so quick to call a band a copycat just because YOU haven't traveled outside the box. :tup:

someone from TXSU judging someone's halftime show lol i know the world is coming to and end. You can't say nothing about The World Famed halftime show at Homecoming because it was on point. The entire stadium were singing to the old school tunes the band played and you know it. They got house during the breakdown also, they didn't have to put a ugly fag in front of the band with a superman outfit on jumping on a trampoline, and two fat people playing George Jefferson and Weezy. Man TXSU Ghetto arse can't say shat about The WF. I tend to never bash but when someone constantly downgrades GSU thats where i draw the line! And oh FUDGE SU, they just talk just to take up ink and they always take without logic!

As for bashing...i was keeping it real. Hell, the world famous didnt impress me until the end of the show. You speak of World Famous but you could not atleast not worn those dingy nurse shoes!

Another thing. Bluntly: BLOWING DOES NOT MAKE YOU IMPORTANT! Anybody can do that. Yall like to down high school kids for blasting. What example are you setting? Espescially SU. Wow, blow. Wow scream. Then screaming don't mean it is the right note. Some of yall need to get some act right. GSU is not the only band who needs work.

P.V. Is as original as they come. Kreme stop lying, because you know and everybody knows that Bama St is notorious for imitating bands. Grambling has thrown their tradition outta the window trying to be like us. If ya'll think that other bands like SU, JSU, TxSU, FAMU, even PV as of recent aren't well known then you're crazy.
