My mom cheers for LSU (not like she does Grambling and SU...when not playing Gram). She's 76 years old and said that our children have the right to go to school and play ball all over the country. Then she said, "They think it's just ball, but baby one of these days we're gonna run more than ball at those schools". It changed me from actually wanting them to lose regardless of who they play to at least being just indifferent. She's been through and seen more discrimination than me... if she can move past it, I have to try!

Dude.....u sound real stupid.....are you in Louisiana?.....No...Kill that noise.....LSU sat on them same steps with SU protesting against Budget cuts...made from JINDAL!!!!!.....As well as State Workers....My Mom is one of em...U wanna blame people for the Shape we in....Blame Tony Clayton and dem damn people on our board....It aint nothing about SU you can tell me ...i didnt just choose to go to SU.......i Stayed on Scenic hwy and Avocet St....Thats a 5 minute walk Across SU tracks....So it's in my blood.....but that don't mean i cant like other things in my city.....everybody playing point the Finger at LSU......ummm hellooooo we are not loosing to LSU...We are loosing to "BRCC"....which was in the talks of changing to "University Of Baton Rouge" till it got shot down because people wanted to keep it a community College.....but my point is.....Children coming out of high school are getting approached by SU/LSU/BRCC/SELU......Most of em from where im from cant afford LSU...so that leaves BRCC AND SELU.....Now check the Enrollment from 2004-present....and watch who declines and who increases......Yet...we still point the Finger at LSU...but BRCC AND SELU gets a free Pass
SLU or BRCC doesnt have the admission standards SU has. That's why they are bussing at the seems. Most of them can't get into SU.

I say this as a heterosexual male, NO!

The professional minor league/college football game of the week. I was on strike from the BCS Title Game, but now on strike from the BCS as well. They have made it all about money and not about the kids getting a quality education. Cam Newton is a bad guy because his dad asked for money, but the Fiesta Bowl steals money and they are wonderful!

You guys can watch all you want, but I have homework to do and a wife to spend time with. Let me know when D-1 Football becomes College Football again and not about money for the already rich schools. All this BCS and all this changing conferences is to keep the money from getting to the small fish. College Football today is a joke!

Well, D-1 athletics hasn't been about the money, power and control since...well...never.

Nobody asked if you cared or about your homework or anything else.....just asked for a prediction of the game. if you don't care dummy then why post. Another ignant ninja on here posting his cry baby thoughts. start your own thread then numb nuts.

LSU-Alabama hype masking truth: In 2011, rest of SEC is ... meh

The SEC is down.

Blasphemous, I know. And probably not a smart move; poking a stick at a Bear Bryant is a good way to experience some good ol' Southern hostility. Nowhere is football more important or fans more passionate, which means I might not be welcomed home again soon. So go ahead, fire off the angry e-mails. But first, read a few more paragraphs.

At this point, we're supposed to talk about how the conference is so strong that its best teams are forged by fire, by running a brutal gauntlet unlike anything else in sport. Well, let's see: Alabama has rolled through the SEC by an average margin of 32.4 points. LSU has won by an average of 27.4. The closest thing to a close game involving either titan was the Tigers' 13-point win at Mississippi State, back when we still thought Dan Mullen's bunch might be salty. The only, uh, showdown we've seen so far was Alabama's 38-14 throttling of Arkansas.

But the SEC is also top-heavy. After the Tide and Tigers, the plain truth is this: The rest of the league is ... meh. LSU's SEC opponents so far have a combined conference record of 7-19. Alabama's are 6-19.

Sure, Arkansas is No. 7 in the BCS standings. South Carolina is No. 9. They play Saturday, and it's OK if you didn't know; it's simply another indication of how the SEC's two best teams have overshadowed everything else. Those Top 10 rankings are more a function of the sport's overall parity -- and a reflection of the SEC's well-earned prestige -- than anything else.

But whatever the reasons, we all see the results. Or actually, we're not seeing as much of it. Going into last weekend, CBS' ratings for SEC games were down 18 percent from 2010.
