I guess we will kiss that transfers ass and Comegy's ass again!!! With a Sophomore QB who kicked yalls "Other White Tiger's" ass when he was freshman!!! And if JSU was the wolves...then that says a lot about wolves....:emlaugh:

I disagree. I don't think Doug throws them to the wolves. It just takes time for a Freshman to grasp the system. My point is he will play one in hopes of them getting better each year. You never expect on to set the SWAC on fire right away. But you should see improvement and that's how you build your future. He is also a former QB himself so he can work with a kid to get better. None of the other coaches can. Maybe Asberry now that he is a head coach in the SWAC. But Doug has done a good job with his Qbs over the years. DJ Jr is going to get better I believe. He may not be his Daddy. But Doug will help him get better.

Founder we disproved this lie many a thread ago..You may have been indispoded at the time..

I will not list them but Comegy has developed several guys from Freshmen to all SWAC and a degree..

Rico Richardson is in his fourth year at WR for JSU
Wilder was a four year player for JSU
Capler our Center is a four year.
Ryan Rich all swac played all four years and developed into one of the best Safetys in the SWAC
I could go on and on for Comegy.

He just hates to develop QB's and he's not the only one on all levels.

We also have a few other QB's on the radar. oh well..
 
Congrats to the young man on his decision and I wish him success in all of his games .... except one. And in that one, I wish him headaches, bodyaches, twitchy fingers, and colorblindness. :ebrow:

Doug Jr. already showed improvement in the Bayou Classic verses the beginning of the season. Ray Charles can see that and he's blind plus 6 feet under.

That's why I said.......I imagine he would play one. Don't know why folks are making anything of it. We know Comegy don't like rolling with young Qbs. He aint the only coach that is like that. He just prefers one that can come in and grasp the system quickly. If it works for JSU nobody should say anything. Now if I was a HS qb I probably would not want to come play for Comegy no matter where he is coaching since he aint that fond of young Qbs who will need more work than a JC or transfer kid. Billy Joe won a lot of games that way. Big Rick is a Billy Joe guy. Don't know why the rest of the board is shocked. He told folks once he got his extension that his first order of business was to replace Casey with another transfer type kid. It is what it is. Nothing new here.

My only argument in this thread was with what coaches will try to let a young Qb develop in their program. Comegy has something that works for him. I wish the Cotton kid well except on that one Saturday he plays SU.
 
I'm not shocked. I think this move is typical Comegy. I'm just not sure JSU fans will be happy with the results this time around.

JR, I'm not talking about grasping the system. I'm talking about developing a QB. How to read defenses, accurracy, and other tangibles.

COMEGY has never been a developer of offensive players in general...but on DEFENSE is really where you see him develop players..Alot of underclassman got a chance to play this season on defense...We have a couple of soph. who didnt see the field as freshman in 2010 who started this past year and the same for defense. As far as this Cotton kid I am not to sold on him because he has came from 3 other schools and wasnt all that at his JUCO....But I wasnt sold on Casey til I saw him in a scrimmage so I guess I may make a trip down to Jackson to see this Cotton kid I hope this kid does well..
 
Really this is another thread where HATE is spewed on JSU....We havent had an overload of transfer since 2006 and 2007...look at our roster and we are playing almost 90 percent of guys who have been at JSU since their freshman year...get your facts straight..

So Gram has all players starting and playing who came in a true freshmen and developed into all SWAC players.....I'll wait on that one..

Like I said Of the Starters this year 80% were Comegy recruits who played from their freshmen year.

He only went Transfer Crazy in years 1 and 2.. Dang man let it go..
