Congressman among 4 people shot at baseball field in Alexandria, Va.





1. How is it that there is Secret Service and Capitol Police around but a man roams around the park with a long rifle?

2. I bet the Republicans take gun control a bit more serious.

3. This goes back to #1....having lived in Alexandria they have so MANY unmarked police cars until it is ridiculous for this reason.

I do not like some of the Republican's policies or stances but killing people in unacceptable.

1. Only Scalise's security detail was there because he is part of House leadership. Otherwise there wouldn't have been any type of security/law enforcement there. SS and CP arrived after being called.

2. They just cancelled a gun legislation hearing to discuss a bill sponsored by a congressman who was at the scene. Would have eased a lot of gun control.

This is why my conspiracy theory senses are tingling.
Meaning that there is something fishy about this whole situation, coupled with the fact that, someone is trying to make this a target on Republicans. There is a conflicting story on whether the shooter asked the question if they were Republicans before or after the shooting.

Untrue but carry on believing that there were no SS or plain clothed CP there.

Having lived there and seen their practices it is all types of security there especially since 911. I'm not going to debate the point because I know better.

Yea....I'm just not going to sit back and think that a man who is in line to be president if something happens does not have more protection along with having at least 10 other members of Congress there. Then a white walking around the park with a rifle and nobody sees a thing?????? It's borderline ridiculous. It's summer time...where the hell would he hide a rifle? I work in a state building and if I see a fool in the summer coming toward the building I am quickly telling my coworkers "heads up a dude coming with a coat on."

He must have had it hidden very well. ONe congressman said he was approached by the shooter in the parking lot and he didn't notice anything. Shooter asked him if it was Dems or Republicans at the field.

Yep and the shooter volunteered for the Bernie Sanders presidential campaign. Damn...
 



Expect more incidents like this with the proliferation of military weapons in our disgruntled society.

I say that Trump's campaign was a legacy of Nixon's Southern Strategy. I think that Trump went beyond Reagan in 1980 and Bush in 1988.

I never owned a firearm until last Saturday. Going to get my CHL with sTu alum Orlando White. 63 years and never felt the need to own one....until the last couple of years.
