Yeah, I think he knew that. That Alabama job was TOO BIG for him. He would have been a disaster at Bama. LOL. He wouldn't have lasted as long as he did at Michigan. Plus his defenses always sucked. Even at WVA. He will do okay at Arizona. Not as many expectations. LOL.

He even encouraged Rudy Hubbard who was an Ohio State assistant under Woody to take the FAMU head coaching job. We all know Coach Hubbard won the first 1-AA Championship. Rudy Hubbard is a 68 graduate of Ohio State and played RB for Hayes. He was the first African American hired by Coach Hayes for his staff. Hired him right after Hubbard graduated and finished playing ball at OSU.

I remember that nationally championship team that Hubbard had. He spoke very well of Woody Hayes.

One should see the ESPN Sport's Century documentary on Hayes too.

Old boy was taking shots at poor Georgia even when he coached in the pros. I remember him making the statement when hired by the Redskins he would make Dallas out of his Georgia. :lol: :emlaugh:

BTW, I still believe he has issues playing black quarterbacks.......

I do too JRock. I really believe that. All those athletically gifted dual threat Qbs in SC and the surrounding states and he can't recruit one to start. Just think if that kid at Clemson was at SC.

So how do you think Urban Meyer will do at Ohio State? I think he will be a terror for the Big 10 if he is the Urban Meyer pre-2010.

UGA folks downright hate Spurrier. He would talk noise about GA all the time. Then proceed to beat the crap outta UGA, year after year. Before Spurrier became UF's coach, GA used to own the gators. Spurrier changed all that. Ga folks still hate him now at carolina.
