Coach Eddie Robinson....

I always tell people, my best sports memory was the 1997 Bayou Classic. Man, I was in attendance to see the greatest coach of all time. Now, when a black person mention Bear Bryant or Nick Saban. I just laugh! If Coach Robinson only had a tenth of the resources that they have or (had)coaching. He would've had 500 victories.

Also, Joe Paterno is banned from this conversation.

Do any of the Grambling alums have any personal memories of him?

He was a member of my church and lived around the corner. I could give you memories outside of the football field and media.

It was nothing to see him at church with Coach Hobdy and Prez Jones both of whom were members of my church. Coach Hobdy was my grandparents neighbor and lived about 50 yards from Coach Rob. My funniest moment as when I was in store across the street and Coach Rob and Hobdy pulled and called me over. They wanted two of those bottled 40 ounce cokes. So I brought them out in two brown bags. Both coaches burst out laughing and as a youngster I didn't know why. They gave me the brown bags to put in the trash.

When I got older I would grab them a coke and take it out of the bag. Basically having it in brown bag made it look like they were drinking liquor. They were forever watching their image.

My sister graduated from high school and pledged Delta with his grand daughter.

So many memories....

The most interesting thing about Eddie's personal life are the convincing accusations of extramarital affairs and his lust for Grambling coeds. I was talking to a Grambling alum last year that insinuated she (and other women) had an affair with Eddie and he was her sugar daddy. She also shared some very interesting pictures that had me scratching my head, especially for a married man with children and a high profile job.

Every human being to ever walk the Earth has a flaw, past and history. Sometimes folks tell the bad side to make their own faults seem better.

Now was that necessary in this thread.

My memories of Coach Rob was every year at the BC, the bands would go do a practice session in the Superdome before the game and then the football teams would come out and do their walk through. One year Coach Rob came out while we were still on the field practicing and he was conversing with his A Phi A frat brother Doc Greggs. I wish I had a camera to take that picture of greatness. Anyway, he was very cordial to us while shaking hands with some of us and then wished us a good performance as he went to go get his team ready to do their walk through. I just stood in awe of Coach Rob at that moment. Class dude!

Well, I would be guilty myself of doing wrong. But, who is perfect??

Did he turn a blind eye to children being molested like a certain coach in Pennsylvania?

I couldn't care less about his alleged extramarital affairs, most men I know cheat (I just wish more were smarter about it). I was just sharing what I thought was interesting information about him.

I wasn't trying to be offensive, but as you can see someone was intrigued to hear that which is why I shared.

Men will never be smart at cheating. We are to predictable. Meanwhile, a woman will cover her tracks and play it smart.
