Burkina Faso 🇧🇫

This is not the first time that a African country was able to pay off their debts (it is still a great achievement), but the problem has always been that those leaders are often taken out or replace (which leads the country back into debt).

Yea, this young brother has had several attempts on his life with his interesting self determination agenda. Also, the innovative car architect was poisoned in an attempt to take him out as well. I would be very surprised if the latter survive prior to his car making traction in the market. If the car does what he says it does, it becomes a threat to developed countries car industry.

More Excellence, different African Country….. Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 Death attempt? Can’t say surprised!

I like Zimbabwe's trading partners. African nations make up 80% of their imports and and about 65% of their exports. African nations are also in the majority, of their top five trading partners, on both sides of the equation. They need to work on their trade deficit, but that will probably remain the same for a while.

One issue from the outside looking in, is it appears they haven’t figured out a way to maximize mining their minerals.

I bet they're being colluded against by former colonizing nations and the west. What they pay top dollar for elsewhere they likely have organized to pay just a fraction of that to African nations. With small margins generated from sells the revenue is not adequate to make capital improvements. If that is the case, then maximizing mining will be a constant

One solution I see is for African nations to sell to black westerners, Americans and Canadians, that understand wealth building and the importance generational wealth. Not at top dollar, but more than the fraction they're getting from the former colonizers.

Hmmm,,,,,,now that I've given it more thought they need to sell to blacks throughout the diaspora that understand the necessity for wealth building.

The only thing that may be an impediment to the last sentence is that old Br’er Rabbit philosophy that the most wicked of the wicked has stolen and adopted. I can see colonizers using trade agreements/embargo once they catch on to destroy that bridge. One would be surprised how petty westerners can be to put choke holds on anything that threatens their perceived interests.

Part of the problem is for some of those countries with CFA Franc have to give favorable deals to French Companies and keep a certain percentage of money in French banks (by the way the African countries don't collect most of the interest of those funds - it seems like the French is taking most of the interested generated by those funds).

I forgot which country, but when they kicked out a French mineral company out of the country, the company was going to go belly up and the French government had to step in to save the company.

If only some of us were thirty years younger with the knowledge we have now. The way around the colonizers and the west is to deal through a nation that doesn't trust colonizers and the west no more than we do, China.

The real reason for China's distrust is not type of governance, but because they know them the way black people do.

Case and Point:

The First Opium War was fought from 1839 to 1842 between China and Britain. It was triggered by the Chinese government's campaign to enforce its prohibition of opium, which included destroying opium stocks owned by British merchants and the British East India Company. The British government responded by sending a naval expedition to force the Chinese government to pay reparations and allow the opium trade.[1]

The Second Opium War was waged by Britain and France against China from 1856 to 1860, and consequently resulted in China being forced to legalise opium.[2]

In each war, the superior military advantages enjoyed by European forces led to several easy victories over the Chinese military, with the consequence that China was compelled to sign the unequal treaties to grant favourable tariffs, trade concessions, reparations and territory to Western powers.

7] Some American merchants entered the trade by smuggling opium from Turkey into China, including Warren Delano Jr., the grandfather of twentieth-century American President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Francis Blackwell Forbes; in American historiography this is sometimes referred to as the Old China Trade.[8]

If that car does what he says it does it's a threat to a whole lot more than the car industry. It's a threat to most every mode of transportation that uses oil and gas. Didn't know the Brother who invented it was poisoned already. Certainly hope serious steps have been taken to protect that man.

I think Africa should be wary of the Chinese too. Three of my neighbors are from Africa (Nigeria, Senegal, and Cameroon). Neither one has anything nice to say about the Chinese. I know China suffered harshly dealing with the West and Japan, but still, Africa just need to be cautious. I'm just saying.

Absolutely, you shouldn't blindly trust anyone. Nigeria was under British rule and still are being influenced by them. Senegal was under French rule and the same is happening as with the British. I will have to look up Cameroon, but its location has me thinking it was a French colony also.

Just looked it up, Cameroon was colonized by the Germans.

Europe and the west has had more than enough time to do right. It's just not in them.
