These kids have GSU by the balls. If there is any truth to the players' claim, there is no way that Gram will cut one scholly because they moment they do it will be all over ESPN. That would then be followed by lawsuits in violation of the Whistleblower law.

JayRob, sorry bruh but I think you are just upset that this happened on JSU homecoming weekend. While those kids did sign a contract to play football, that contract did not allow them to be treated as second class citizens. That contract binds GSU to take care of those kids, and if they are providing them food then its GSU that violated the contract. If Gramb can't afford adequate means of transportation to far away games, then they don't need to schedule them. When I worked at AAMU and we made the long bus ride to Baton Rouge or Grambling, Coop always got extra buses so players weren't cramped and had more room to stretch out.

Well is there any word on if the SWAC office released a statement in this situation? Or are they not obligated to do or say anything?

Ok...Here's something folks hadn't thought about...that's on this take their scholarships away

WHO IS GOING TO GRAMBLING AFTER THIS?? Would you send your son to play football after this hits national news???

Yea yall saying take their 'ships' away..How does that going to play on that SR in H.S. when he hears about the current football players situation and how they were stripped of their 'ships' and treated...c'mon folks this is bigger than 'contracts' so call...

You have an reputation as an institution to provide things for these kids,

You will always be able to find some kids that want to play college football. and they can't be no worse than he 0-15 these dudes are.

This is not a "Whistleblower" situation. If you tell on your boss, thats fine, BUT YOU STILL HAVE TO COME TO WORK IF YOU WANT TO GET PAID. They have told, and have the public attention they were looking for.

This could be any one of our institutions...and we need to understand that ALL of our athletic departments are but a few steps away from being a Grambling type situation. You can sit here and think that this would NEVER happen at your school! I hope that the GSU situation gets resolved rather quickly because this not only reflects upon their school...but it puts all member institutions of the SWAC and BCF in a negative light.

Do not think for a moment that a recruiter from a PWC would not use the opportunity to mention this situation to one of their recruits who is considering an HBCU.

Gram we stand behind you...and we support you...as we are all in this together!

What good would be of Removing Scholarships???? The season is STILL a bust and you are STILL out Millions of dollars....

Who is play if there are NO football players?

The Alumni, Administration, Coaches, & Players must come to a deal that Supports both Players & The University.

THIS IS A FUKINNN SHAME!!!! THESE NINJAS HOLLERIN THEY WANT NEW UNIFORMS TOO. SMDH.

THIS MAKES ME FUKKKINNN SICK TO MY STOMACH!!!!

When did the players say they wanted new uniforms? Why would they want new uniforms right now? The season has already started and is about the end.

My secretary is from Minden, she called home and talked to one of the players. They have all left campus and gone back to their hometowns for the weekend. The ones that are staying are going to high school games. So, unless things change overnight, there will not be a game this weekend in Jackson.

Been a while since I posted, but I want to say this. Sometimes the kids have to make a stand for something. I played basketball at SE LA in the 90's, got my master's from JSU in '95, and we boycotted a game right before we played SU because the coaches wouldn't listen to our input. We don't know the real reason the players have decided to not play. But until you have suited up and been thru practice, meetings, and games with them, we can't call them out for what they are doing. I don't like it, but I definitely understand it.

What gets me is they are swinging at Grambling's administration, but they hit them on the shoulder and it bounced off and hit Jackson State dead in the mouth. They could have played this week and boycotted next week when Grambling had a home game against Tex Southern. But this hurts Jackson State far more that it hurts Grambling. All of the game day worker, venders, etc. that have nothing to do with this are hurt. That is why I don't have that much support for this.

Like I said...IT's alot of Cooning that's going on in this thread....shat is disgustin to be quite honest

the kids should wait..this aint the right time
the kids 'ships' should be taken away
the kids need to hush and play ball

F' that, if it was your kid going through the situation or better yet yo ass..would you feel the same way...while the board members sit on they asses and let things go on for so long...smh...

This time it's not the white man...it's the uppity dumb ass ******s we have sittin on these boards...aint no dayum way these kids should be going through this

EXACTLY!! I agree with this 100%.

What happened to HBCUs and the alumni fostering a nurturing environment for student-athletes unlike those PWCs that really don't care about them?

All I'm reading is folks wanting kids kicked outta school and their scholarships taken away,

So you'd rather TxSU travel to Grambling only to found out that there is no game?

I just called JSU ticket office and they are saying they are still playing. My band is in the homecoming parade and we bought tickets. I asked them about a refund cause of what Ive read here and they said the university will handle that if and when Grambling does not show up......this is some straight bull

Not to mention that it was to be their homecoming game.

This I agree with. I would boycott a home game.
