*clicks on link.......sees a a BIG Q with a question mark in the middle....very very pissed!:splat:

From what i was told, the boom was on the wrong foot and couldnt hear themselves....i may be wrong since i cant see for myself.

Question: How do you know if you were successful when blowing on the other band? What makes you successful? ...

When would doing anything other than honoring the entrance of another in competition EVER be a class act? When is a lack of honor ever a successful thing?

Band, sports, politics, relationships, parenting, ... pick the issue of your choice. Be classy in what you do.

Subject was been talked about before. I do recall a time that it was so bad that Clarion Ledger did a story about 92 or 93 I think about how Alcorn played on the Sonic Boom while they where on the field I believe. I was overseas in Germany at the time.

Yes...It is tacky and it still happens to this day......

On the flip side........
Last year Mr. Jackson stopped SU from leaving Mississippi Memorial when the Boom cracked open that "GO HOME (Gangsta "B" REMIX).........

From that clip it doesnt look like the Boom was on the wrong foot. Everyones left foot came down on beats one and three everytime, at least everyone till the trumpet section. I guess the reason bands blow on the entrance of another band is to try to throw them off and make them look sloppy with all those white spats going every which a way.

Its simply a confusion technique! 4 and 8 send help!

Second it is Intimidation!!! To come in to a stadium with all that heat on your back!!! PV knows how to do that well!

I do recall sending some serious heat across the field to the white shoe crew in Dallas.

Question: How do you know if you were successful when blowing on the other band? What makes you successful? How do you measure this? What does the clip reveal about Southern blowing on JSU in '97? Was JSU phased by this or not?

LOL at how the Jags exaggerate things, people this is living proof..This was supposedly the game the jukebox blew the BOOM all off step and had the whole band looking unorganized  I didnt see it then and I dont see it now.

Bruh...that did happen...

Now, due to time, of course, the story did pick up steam. But, there WERE lil groups thru-out the band that were off-step. It wasn't as drastic as the whole band being off step. But, it WAS noticable that there were enough folks off step to say that what the "S" did was effective.

Really, the whole thing was as thought out as folks would like to make it. All it was.....SU was in the stands and had been chill'n and was ready to get down for the get down (we just knew we were murdering bands that year). To kill time and start the fun (for the JSt/SU atmosphere that was already hanging over Memorial before the "S" marched in, anyway)....we started the dance routine version of "You don't Wanna Go to War" and "I Can't Stand the Rain" when JSt's DM's hit the gate. And, Mr.Jackson was so hyped after that....he cranked up "Hay".

Truss...all it was, was a message that it was going to be a long day that day. The "S" really wasn't trying to make a historical statement. It was just MrJackson and pure crunkness.

It's not like that game was the first time the "S" did sum'n like that. It just got alot of attention cuz of who we were playing..and, the fact that JSt. got the blunt of it and was seen being off step.

*shrugs*...hey, stories pick up steam. Kind of like how well the '03 Boom did against the "S", when the only thing they had note-worthy were the b-tones and the fact that that was the loudest JSt. had ever been in Mumford East, against the "S".

Now, folks talk like the "S" got blew on while marching in...played the fight song..and, then left due to embarrasment. Knowing dog'gone well that wasn't the case.

LOL well if it picks up as much steam as that 97 rivalry, years later that fight song want even be played

college gameday, it's funny how a post backfires on you and to think, you've given us the smokin' gun.

The ONLY reason su played while JSU marches in is because JSU has the BEST marching entrance and exit of ANY band in the nation, period.
That entrance gets the entire stadium's attention and it get's the JSU fans and opposing fans hyped (or jealous) EVERY time.

su couldn't stand it, so gregs tried to cover it up. That was some lame azz bunk he tried to pull on the BOOM. He pulled that same stunt a couple of years ago, but as always, it backfired.
Little did he know that most of the su fans wanted to see and hear the BOOM march in. He couldn't stand it.

Why else would su play while JSU's entering the stadium?

JSU's entrance into Memorial....

The BOOM exiting mumford in 2005....

Agreed. Just showed a lack of class and outright jealousy, plain and simple.
At least let the fans hear what they came to hear instead of muckin it up with some idiotic mess.
su fans only get to see the BOOM march in mumford only once every two years and he tried to muck it up.

This is why Liddell pulled the stunt on him a couple years ago and arrived long before su's band marched in. su fans also have a habit of taking seats reserved for the BOOM as well. Dayum shame.

I stopped reading right here....

Please tell me you don't actual believe that....

:)

:uhoh: ....If that'll make you feel better...then sure.....

One question....did Kobe help you shovel all that BS? Or, was the shovel handle only big enough to go solo?

:)

Another diversion tactic, but it won't work here. Let's stay on topic please.

You were sayin' about the BOOM's entrance/exit?

Someone please show a clip of su marching in Memorial in '06 when JSU played, and THEY became all unorganized and outta step goin into the stands.
I guess college gameday don't wanna talk about that, huh?! Post that cg.

o'blade, why don't you try to explain that debacle.:emlaugh:

10 years later and yall were recipients of the big payback. You know what they say about about payback..... it's a motha----!

 :smh: ....Self smack at it's finest.

Im diverting....yet, the subject was on SU crank'n on JSt. while JSt was marching in in '97. The same game that was the reason JSt. tries SOOO hard to try and get in...err...run in and do the same to the "S" every other year at Mumford East.

Oh yea....got me there, JayRob...

:)

A minute clip that showed JSt and the crowd for 45 seconds of it...and, I don't see where SU is off step.

SU being off step to what JSt. is playing isn't quite the same thing...

:)

Dats the same thing I said about that clip on here from 97 and the BOOM was directly in front of SU, "shrugs", as you said earlier it steams up over the years...but i can say that sections were leaving other sections lol running into the stands to blow back...

Right......JStank has been trying to get back at the Jukebox for years because of that but it'll never be like 97. :flamethro :flamethro

If we're in the stands and the other band comes in it's war time. Fugg all of the bullshat. If you don't want to get your skull crushed ahead of time then use the current tactic of the Boom.....get there 3 hrs early.
