BlackBerry Curve vs. Motorola Atrix?

It's time for an upgrade. I've had this motorola flipout for the last 2 years. I liked it because of the qwerty keyboard that the BlackBerry has. I also use apps such as gmail, linkedin, & rhapsody. If I can get these apps, I'm good to go. Is it possible to get these apps with a BlackBerry?

This brings me to the next question. I've always liked motorola products. At the present time, ATT only offers the ATRIX. I was just curious to know if anyone had this phone and is it worth it?

Honestly I wouldn't get either but that's just me. Why waste an upgrade on an outdated phone?

Long as it has the apps that I want and need, that's cool...plus I'm not trying to pay a whole lot. I could get another I-phone. Left it in my pants and washed it by mistake. It was never the same after that. I just want something a little different from everyone else.

What would you recommend?

If this is all you want to do, then pretty much ANY phone would work for you….

Your Motorola Flipout is an Android 2.1 handset. There have been a lot of changes to Android since 2.1. Being an AT&T customer and if I was happy with Android, I would go with some of the newer Android phones AT&T has to offer…especially one the can be upgraded to Android 4.1. The Atrix is not the worst phone in the world but Motorola is own by Google now. There’s a lot of ambiguity to what’s Motorola’s role in the “SOFTWARE” company’s future. Google did not even get Motorola to build the Nexus 7 tablet. You might buy an Atrix today and then have to buy another phone in six months because of the Atrix being obsolete. That is one of the disadvantages of buying an older Android handset.

The Samsung Captivate Glide is part of the Galaxy S II series of phones which will get an Android upgrade to 4.1. Also, it has a slide out keyboard if you still want that. It’s only $49.99 with a two year contract with AT&T. Also AT&T is selling a refurbished Samsung Galaxy S III for $29.00 but that depends on your risk tolerance with refurbished phones.

Then there’s the Samsung Rugby, the phone is called a 4G capable phone, but lacks LTE support. It’s also supposed to be waterproof and right now AT&T is selling it for $.99 and it’s already running Android 4.0.

As for buying a Blackberry now, well that needs to be between you and Jesus.

That’s the best I can do without typing word iPhone.

Ok, I'll consider all that. I almost want to say, screw it and just get another I-Phone....But let me ask one more question. What is the big deal with this Galaxy Note II? Is it really all that. Until recently, my wife never asked for a particular brand of phone until she got her side business going. Now she keeps saying that she wants one. I told her if she gives me what I want :) maybe I would upgrade mine and give it to her and I'd keep her I-Phone. Would it be worth it to have one of these things for the next 2 years? Thanks in advance...

Look bulldog,
I was an avid BB supporter. I held on to my curve for dear life and finally sucked it up and gave it up on Black friday. It just ain't worth it man.

Ok, I considered everything everyone has posted, even seriously thought about the Galaxy Note but just don't feel like paying all that money even if ATT gives me a discount. I guess my problem is that I wished there were more options out there that I liked. Nevertheless, I'll just get another I-Phone and call it a day.... thanks again...
