Many of the white people who are racist fear the unknown. They have not been around black people and all they know is what is shown on television or heard on the radio. Not a good representation of even a small percentage of black people.
Sadly, many black people fall in the same situation. Only exposed to white people at work. Exposed means, do you have friends of other ethnic groups? Now I don't know about you but the word friend means much more than association to me.
Now like I said every one of us has a racist bone in their body, mine is if I was to marry a woman of another race would my children be considered black. Yes. The reason is for benefits in college and most importantly I feel that the African American Culture is rich in all types of knowledge. The only ethnic group that I would consider my kids accepting and not being black was if the mother of my children was Native American. It's called choice.
Now Warndynlyn if you consider me hoodwinked and bamboozled because I believe what I believe then consider me such because I fight racism by not being a racist. It took me years to get to this point.
Now I do want to go to Coushatta and act a fool; but the logical black man in me says that in order to battle what just happened in that town is to support my cousins in using logical thinking and rational techniques to combat that problem.
