GSU #1 in MS

Freshman
I know that many people probably haven't seen other pep bands besides their schools, but I want to know who yall think has the best as far as you've seen. In my opinion, JSU and Grambling have the best I've seen. What yall think?

I would have to see all of the pep bands to make a statement. Based on some of the clips that I've seen...well...I have to see all of the SWAC bands...LOL

I only saw one pep band this year...A&M, and I needed ear plugs because they thought they were in a stadium, but they sounded good.

Well Ive seen 5 pep bands this season, JSU, UAPB, PV, BAMA ST., and SU. PV's pep band was the size of their marching band :D I swear that was the full band in that gym lol and they sounded good..but i want include them lol..As out of the other 4 i would say that JSU and UAPB's pep band sound much closer to the real band..Bama St. pep band sounded good at the swac tournament..SU's pep band :retard: ..well lets just say they arent a reflection of the jukebox at all, they sound horrible..So out of the 4 i would pick JSU..but if Pv's pep band was a pep band i would have to choose them lol but i doubt if that was a pep band :goof:

....whether they sound good or bad, I could careless about Pep bands.

Never thought that the Pep band thing was that serious to even think about judging whose best.

I think pep bands are a missing component in our bball atmosphere. PWC's travel with theirs. We don't. You know we love our bands as much as sports and I think we could (sadly) get some more people out. For JSU, the pep band should at least travel to GSU, AlaState and Alcorn. The SU game is on a Monday.

I'll agree here.

As for PV, at home, whoever shows up will play. Whether its 30 or 130. It's OUR HOUSE. The 2 times we went to the NCAA tourney, we took the standard 30 pieces.

Me too!
When I was at SU the Pp band was voluntary. And a lot of people really didn't want to play, but seniors had to play to fulfil there requirement. So the pep band was always great. Now I think its a thing they force freshmen to do.

Plus pep bands cut into your "kicking it" time. Who wants to be playing during a basketball game when you can be walking around macking the honies...LOL

PEP BAND ONE TIME!!!! i had a blast doing pep band, at A&M it was just for the freshman. so you know we were fresh off a azz whoopin and crunk to do da damn thang!

A&Ms pep band was TOO BIG... and TOO DAMN LOUD..... one game they got booed because the crowd was crunk off the music, then the band stood up and started playing and they cut the music off. AAMU pep band had close to 100 freshman in it this year.. keep in mind our gym AINT big. You couldnt hold a convo with the person sitting next to you if they were playing.

and the church said..................AMEN!!!!

forget that, I loved playing in the pep band. I especially loved SWAC Championship, because there was always somebody there to play against. I love competition and getting the team crunk to go out and win.

R u saying that SU needs the full band to sound good?

Absolutely not. SU's pep band was on the front page of Sports Illustrated when we beat Ga. Tech in the ncaa touney, not the bball team. What I'm saying is that its something members are forced to do now, rather want to do. And the footage that (so calls) sounds so bad of SU's pep band is from the weekend when most of the band was in Dallas for the HBCU nite at the Mavs Game, and the ones there were forced to do it. I'm sayin, lets not get caught up in 1 bad perfomance and say that SU has an awful Pep Band. If so, do it for the real band too!

And don't forget about last year when they showed out at the Duke game, or that year they played for the Lady Jags in the NCAA tournament.

When does gsu ever sound good?

I was tryin not to make it that kinda party.... but you done got it started.
I know he's tryin to allude to that clip on marching network :shame: when the Pep band was out of line. But if having one off day means your pep band sucks... What does it mean when the real band (Grampax) has an off half decade? Does that mean the program sucks, the leadership, the talent, or maybe just the institution as a whole. :smash: No one from *rampax is allowed to smack another band (pep or otherwise) until they have had a decent band for at least three weeks.

if su pep band sucks then they suck lol stop whinning lol

Even if that was true I'd rather have that than an entire Music program that sucks arse.

In case you didn't understand that, your marching band, pep band, stage band, symphonic band, jazz band, (pause commercial break),

To stop the bleeding of a band that was at least average at one time........gsu needs

TAMPAX!!!!!

Now back to the regularly scheduled program.

and all of your ensembles are garbage.......so what's your excuse?
