Being "Articulate"

I had a professor at AAMU who wrote a book about the Color line established by Thomas Jefferson. A line was drawn between whites and blacks and in many whites minds no black will equal the whites who are above the line. There will always be something that will be said to remind us on a daily basis that our education is only compared with black on black. In the workforce, it is almost impossible to see a minority get promoted over a white male, however they will create a position and promote both the black and white. O'Riley still believe no black is smart enough to have a show like him, but just think what it would be like if Fox hired a black to host the same type of show.

I had a talk show for fourteen years and I know the power of TV.

I was watching Bill O'Reilly last night talking about the opportunity he had to finally meet the first lady at the White House. He mentioned how impressed he was with her. He mentioned how beautiful she was and how she was so graceful. The he mentioned how "articulate" she was.

I started thinking to myself; as educated as Michelle Obama is and considering her professional background as an attorney, why would one be surprised that she is articulate?

I then asked myself the question if a person is indeed articulate why should I be bothered that he/she is labeled as such?

Now I have to be honest. There have been times I have been complimented on my articulation by "other folks" and I would take offense to the compliment. But truth be told, everyone one isn't articulate. I think we all can agree on this.

Question: Are "WE" and should "WE" be overly sensitive whenever a "brother" or "sister" is complimented by "other folks" on his/her ability to articulate if it is true?

Well....., I will say this, it is always good to "read between the lines before you react."

Dead on! :clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

If you've matriculated about a predominantly white environment your whole life, it becomes the norm and is easily overlooked. :|

Conversely, it's e-z to be termed the same thing even by those of your common racial designation. Both groups, amongst others, should be overlooked for their insipid thought process when one thinks themselves to be normal.

Believe it or not many blacks get looked over by these types of people because most white people believe that this is the "norm" for how people will think...... CALL THIS THE "main stream America!" How I know this is because when I was in school they thought I was the odd ball next to the other black kids who were (boy if they just knew how dumb them mofos were) and I was withdrawn when actuality I was trying to keep my buizzness from them (you talk about strange times) and most the "whites" (teachers) would say things like watch out for such-in-such (me that is) becasue he is a trouble maker and the thing is the others were nothing but 'hood rats' and everything else you could imagine :retard: boy those were the dayz! Because of this I really would send my children to private school because of all the public trash that goes with it. "If you can make it in public schools then you can make it anywhere!" My advice to anyone in school would be to stay away from those who REALLY seek to try to turn white people against you 'cause they really are seeking for that attention that: 1. They can't get cause they are ghetto. 2. The attention they are not getting from home becasue the parents don't know enough. Finally, believe it or not they just don't give a zhhhhiiiiiittttttt about about nothing but causing problems becasue they think this world is the bomb being 'tow slap up!'
