[the band fan]

I watched game one on TV......PV had that game won but in SWAC baseball...never let the leadoff man reach base with a one-run lead late in the game as you know what'll happen...

Pitching stands out in wins over Panthers

Print Email Save Share Del.icio.us Digg Facebook Reddit Saturday was a day long in coming for two of Southern?s senior relievers.

First, Theo Ycoy, in his fifth year, got his first win, going 1 1/3 innings as the Jaguars rallied for a 6-3 win over Prairie View.

Then, Cody Elliott, a sixth-year senior who has had Tommy John surgery and just got cleared to play earlier this month, earned his first save by pitching a scoreless seventh in a 4-2 victory at Lee-Hines Field.

As SU (10-9, 8-3 Western Division) rebuilds its bullpen, those are the performances the Jaguars will need as SU seeks its first Southwestern Athletic Conference title since 2005.

Prairie View senior Wrandal Taylor started and went the distance in the Panthers? 6-2 win.

Prairie View senior pitcher Wrandal Taylor, the face of the program?s rise from obscurity, did Sunday what he?s done for so long: produce a gem when his team needed him most.

Taylor (3-2) struck out six in a complete-game 6-2 win over Southern at Lee-Hines Field.

Entering Sunday, the Panthers had gone 3-15, including two losses to SU on Saturday, since March 5 and Taylor had lost twice since winning last on March 1.
?This team needed it. Golly,? PV coach Michael Robertson said.

SU played SUnday's game with 5 starters out.

SU played SUnday's game with 5 starters out.

What does that mean? Are you saying that could be why they lost?

What does that mean? Are you saying that could be why they lost?

I don't even see why you guys even respond if SU doesn't win its always a built in excuse players hurt or they didn't play there starters. Everyone in the swac has to fight the injury bug. The starter excuse is pure comedy. So are you saying Cador is throwing games to give every one a chance to play. Since I have been posting on here SU has never lost because the other team has scored more points then them.

[Jaguar94]

Divisional is half-way finished. Tight race in the west. Surprisingly gram is in 1st and pv is in 3rd. TxSU and PB are battling for that 4th place finish. Everyone is trying to be the team to play a Bama in the 1st round and save their pitching.

The east is as suspected. The 'Sip schools are the top 3 and the bama's are the bottom feeders. Atleast 1 bama will make the tourney this year.:retard:
