Hey BF

GET READY understands your plight and everything you were talking about. You will learn as you journey down the street that is called TSPN that not many of our college educated bretheren and sisteren of the African American pursuation have the integrity needed to help us be the people we need to be. The very people who should know better, that have college degrees, that have watch their parents and grandparents struggle with racism and sterotypes will not stand up and carry the cross with integrity. We all want respect, but we havnt earned it.

As long as GR has been here He has realized that you are fighting a losing battle. You will never get righteousness from some people. It just aint in them. Get READY guesses thats just how they were raised. You keep on fighting the GOOD fight brotha.

Y'all know what, though ... I don't see anything really wrong with Bandfan choosing not to advertise chicken. To each his own. I take exception, though, with him referring to the advertising of chicken as COONISH. A person who works in commercials is making a LIVING, just as he is by working at Walgreen's and Edward Jones.

I believe that's what ticked everybody off! He has a right to his opinion, but don't regard someone else's decision as 'coonish'.
 
I believe that integrity can apply to any ethical profession, however, pride, will not allow some to work in occupations preceived as being below a preceived standard.

As for Kwame, if a million dollar opportunity comes along to give his career a boost, I'm sure he will consider the benefits and concerns, and make the best decision for his career.

I don't understand how whites can spend billions of dollars eating chicken, make billions doing commercials about chicken, coming up with new chicken recipes to market, etc., but we can't buy a wang, or say KFC is um um good for cash, without being labled as a c**n.

I think maybe BandFan has a different view on job titles and degrees. It seems that for him the job title and the degree are whats important. Having an MBA from a prestigious school is an honor and maybe the type of goals he strives for. If thats the case I understand what he is saying....


Now as for me I'm 110% percent money driven. Education....Harvard....MBA....none of it means jack shat to me if it aint puttin dollars in my pocket. Now don't get me wrong. I love to learn and I absorb as much knowledge as I possibly can. But if you give me loot to do nothin....I will quickly say fugg my degree and everything else I know cuz it aint worth nothin to me except the profit it brings me. Lets be honest....we'd all love to sit on our arse all day. Thats why I strive for my own company. Thats probably why most people do. Thats why I always say....

BF, bruh... :smh: Stand firm if you're gonna' stand. I can admire that. Me? L, I'm $$$$ driven as well as moral driven. Nothing wrong w/ a KFC, Churches, Williams, Popeyes, ... commercial. In the light you're looking @ it, we're all getting pimped by our jobs because we work for a corp (a majority of us). Work is work and somebody's gotta' do it. I'd be humming my way to bank to deposit those chex bruh. That's the goal. That's the objective and there's nothing illegal about that. :tup:
 
I still would not do a commercial for KFC to promote their chicken.

I would work as an anaylst, budgeter, consultant for KFC for commericals.

Do you not realize that KFC does not really give a damn about Kwame, they only know that he is the "HOT NEGRO on the MINUTE" and want to use his FAME to sell their product. Just like NIKE, Gatorade, Adidas, COACH etc etc use rappers to sell their product. If I were in the ENTERTAINMENT field then commericals would be fine, but If Im a Construction worker who won a contest WHY WOULD I BE IN A KFC COMMERCIAL??????


let me guess.......................FOR The MONEY.

Even if the commerical showed me OWNING 10 KFC franchises, I still wouldn't do, cause at the end of the day KFC just used me to sell more chicken, and when my fame is gone they will have a New NI88A to pimp.

MONEY AINT FUKING EVERYTHING!!!!!!!

I honestly beleive that some of my people would slit their own kids throat for $20.00 and a 3 peice with sides.

If his occupation is an Acting..yeah. If your a Accountant, then youre just an accountant infront of the camera. Even though their is no official certification or degree to be an actor, If the last thing you "acted" in was your 7th grade school Christmas Play , I think its safe to assume you're not an actor.
 
Ya'll know Kwame's not taking the KFC gig as long as Mark Cuban's(yep... owner of the Dallas Mavs) offer is still on the table.
