Bad Yellow Boppa! H-Town logic.

Man, what is it with you Houston peeps who are still color struck? Thats country and ignorant. I have a co-worker from H-Town who is black as Michael Jordan with a wife that is yellow as a lemon. He saids it's just something about a yellow bone and that everybody in H-Town for the most part feels the same way he does about a yellow bone. To confirm his logic he let me listen to a lot of H-Town rappers who say the same thing in their lyrics (Pimp C, Bun B, Lil Flip, ESG, Chamillion, and etc.) Yall need to kill that slave mentality.

p.s. Jordan's "Yellow" bone left him.

p.s.s. In Mississippi we call 'em "Red" bones. Go figure??
 
He can speak for himself, I used to think that way long long time ago.

I had two yellow girls before, one was a little wacko, and the other one two-timed me. I know a guy (charcoal arse *****) who married a hella yella sister, had everything, physically......they got divorced last year......it's not all in the color guys/gals.

Right now I'm with a nice mocha skinned color sista, that's not crazy and from what I can tell, not two timing me.

I think it was shallow of me, and shallow of other peeps should use color as a standard for a mate. Not that there anything wrong with yellow people. Just keep your eyes open to all posibilities, not just narrow minded in one direction. If I had still looked that way, I wouldn't have who I have now.
 



Dont know, dawg. It' just a phase, I think. It's a golden brown thing. H-Town brothas likes yella's. I know it's one of the things that are setting H-Town men back, cuz it's blowing up these light skinned women's heads up beyond belief, but ey. *Shrugs*

PS- We get it from Louisiana. I know you've notices how all the black ones got the high yella ones.
 
Well yellabone and redbone are two different skintones.. but in MS we use them interchangeably... What I think is a trip are the beautiful caramel and brown skinned young ladies who will say "I am a sexy yellabone" Come on now, there is nothing wrong with what they are... I never really think about it when I listen to h-town rap cause it is just accepted that cats are mad colorstruck... The excuse I hear from most is that it is rare to find a pretty dark-skinned sista.. Ah come on.. alot of these yella chicks ain't all that cute but they get crazy attention...

Personally it doesn't matter to me if a female is light or dark...


Furthermore I hate the concept of a boppa even more.. When will we realize that all these cars and stuff are not forever? Boppas and Gold diggers make me sick!
 
Well, it all dates back to slavery, when they separated us in that manner. Had the light skinned in the house and the darker in the barn. Brain-washing the light skin to thinking that they were better than the darker ones. Sad how we continue to pass that on.

Not trying to rain on your parade or anything, but aren't you just as guilty of the crime you are accusing others of...
I mean terms like "Red"bone, and "yello as a lemon" are separting and classing these same women into a particular group based soley on their color too isn't it? And saying the brother is "black as Micheal Jordan" means has what? What excatly does his "complexion" have to do with the type of women he prefers? You might want to check that "slave mentality" too? I know you wouldn't want to be seen as "country and ignorant".

This thread is about how some H-Town brothers feel as if a light skinned female is superior to a dark skinned sister. Nothing I said in my previous post should lead you to believe that I discriminate on females based on skin color. You need to read thoroughly before posting dude cuz what you just posted is way off base.

This is not solely a Houston problem. We can go to any city in this good ol U S of A, and you will find this on both sides male and female. It goes back to what Blublood say it a slave mentality, that has stuck with us. We are as a people unique as far as shades of color. no other ethnicity has such a wide range. I have a light bright damn near white female cousin that will only date dark skinned brothas, because she says they all have big spoons

I just chuckle when they say that "light skin" is in or "dark skin" is out.. there are too many people on this earth to be stuck on one particular attribute..

Why do we differentiate when the outside world sees a black person regardless of skin tone and immediately labels them as a N#gga?

I will relay this story to you.. I knew a female that worked in a store. One day a white man came up to her and said "You are a beautiful Creole girl." She replied "no I am straight Black" The man asked was she mixed.. and she said no... The man gave her a strange look like he was startled that a black person could have certain features. Even I found it hard to believe but I happen to know her folks and indeed she is a 100% negro just like me... :)
 
Back in the day here in Cali, sistas were into the light skin curly hair and would not look at another, unless he happended to be popular. We were not into the light skin sistas as heavy but they were noticeable. As I got older and ended up in Baton Rouge and New Orleans and I heard the term "Pass for White" in French and I was like what the heck is that. I also think it does go back to the slave mentality of separatism. Now on one hand if a light skin women is what some are attracted to then cool. But if it is a "hang up" thats sad.:(

LOL That PA Ni&&a by UGK is a classic. They talk about "bad yella Beyotches. To me it dont really matter. A lottaa people say they like this or that, but when you see them, they got the exact opposite. ::srugs::
 
What is it to you what another man likes? If I liked white women.....then that would be my choice. If I liked fat women....then that'd be my choice. If I liked women with 2 teeth and they were both gold.....then that'd be my choice. Why should anyone else care what i'm attracted to? It's called the 'mind ya biznass' rule.:o
 
There is nothing wrong with having preferences. If a man wants to date light skinned women exclusively then that is his preference. I would not knock him for that. For instance, I dont date fat girls. Are you gonna dog me for that?

I did not know that it was a serious issue that can be singled out within Houston. Most of my friends have no particular preference.
