Attendance Predictions

I see only PV and Grambling folks doubting the appeal of the TxSU vs SU game in Dallas which in my opinion is stronger than the SFC.

Check this out ...
1) Texas Southern/Southern bands have a larger following and are more popular than PV/Grambling bands. Don't believe me ... google it.
2) Southern fans travel the best in the SWAC
3) Interest in Texas Southern football is quickly growing again which means the fanbase is growing
4) Most black people in North Texas (Dallas area) never been to a Texas Southern or Southern football game which only heightens the anticipation. Most likely they've been to a SFC game at some point.
No SU fans does not travel the BEST IN THE SWAC. SU fans travel the best in the west as does JSU fans travel the best in the east. Point blank

True, it's hard to tell who's better JSU or SU ... no disagreement. So yeah I'll give the title for SU in the West and JSU in the East right now ... but Alcorn is challenging JSU for the East title. I've been impressed with the Alcornites as of the last three years. And their fans are very fun and passionate too ... one of the reasons why I love the SWAC. The culture is very unique.

Yea but I wouldn't say they challenging us just like u said in the last 3 years Alcorn has been rolling and jsu has only won 11 games in 3 years and yet our attendance is number one so again I wouldn't say they are challenging us but Alcorn is definitely in the top rankings in attendance in the swac. A lot of people want to say SU comes to jackson but jsu doesn't go to su. At the same time, we dnt limit SU fans to 1500 seats being that there stadium is smaller. Jsu and su definitely travels more than any other in swac. Like I said su has the west and jsu has the east but I must say it says a lot about jsu to still be mentioned in an attendance convo with only 11 games being won in 3 years while SU has been a west contender for the last 4-5 to years. Lol had to throw that out there. #THEEILOVE lol

Well JSU is extensively covered in the Jackson area so that continue to drives interest. If you keep hearing and seeing people talk about it, it makes you wanna go to the game (for most people). The Clarion Ledger and local news stations covers JSU like it's a P5 team (Clemson, Alabama, Notre Dame, etc). Houston media (except the black media) rarely acknowledges TSU and if so it's normally in an "oh by the way" tone (brief and to the point). The last time our football team received front page and extensive news coverage in Houston was in 2010 for winning the SWAC title for the first time since the 60s (2010 title was later vacated). I emailed the TSU's AD about improving our relationships with the local media so when maybe be on JSU's level.

But yeah JSU spring game had a lot of people so the trajectory is looking good right now. JSU football is likely the best thing about Jackson (and affordable living) lol

This comment had to be aimed at jsu lol. How cud u NOT include a school that had the attendance banner on a DOWN YEAR. Lol

I just wanted to see how fast it would take for one of yall to comment lmao. I was going to say something about yall inflating numbers but I didnt want to get banned for trolling

Of course JSU will also be at the top.

that is something TxSU must definitely do

This statement is not accurate. Alcorn is nowhere near to challenging JSU in attendance and definitely won't do it this year because they have to come to Memorial.

The president has mentioned he wants to improve our relationship with the media. But honestly it's hard to cure racism and ignorance ... some people in Houston have some hardcore unapologetic ignorant views of the university and love exploiting those views.

Our president is very well connected in the "elite" (bougie) black Houston society, but I've yet to see him have those same type of connections in the mainstream white Houston society that run the bigger media outlets

Ticketmaster don't limit anyone. If the roles were reversed, SU fans would find a way.

Elite Houston only comes to the games that draws a crowd so they can get the suites and mainstream media don't care outside of a token piece. Been like that forever unfortunately.
