ATLANTA -- Voters in the city of Atlanta have approved Sunday alcohol sales.

About 80 percent of the citizens who visited the polls Tuesday voted "yes" for the opportunity to buy alcohol on Sundays.

Fulton County's SPLOST, a penny sales tax that will go toward education initiatives, also passed with 64 percent of residents voting for it.

Wait, you mean to tell me that ATLANTA is Just not getting alcohol sales on Sunday????

WOW Really???

Well good for the ATL!!!

Montgomery has had alcohol sales 24 hours a day, seven days a week for nearly ten years. My Atlanta kin folk were stunned when they'd come here on sundays, and I'd take them to the liquor store.

I always tell them that you can buy a fifth of gin on your way to church, if you want to.

Deuce, don't expose our good church folks to unreasonable searches and seizures in the church pews. :shame:

Hop City Beer and Wine Store near Atlantic Station sends me email all the time. I know now that we will be better friends in the very near future. I haven't seen that many beer and wine selections in my life. I stop there every now and then on my way back to Montgomery or just kooling out in the ATL.............

You aught to see all the winos sitting on Adams Ave. by Cramton Bowl licking their lips, and waiting on new shipments of their favorite spirits everyday around the clock. :dizzy:

For most of the metro area, these votes weren't even remotely close.

smh@Forest Park and Palmetto

The Forest park vote was wrong. There was an issue going on with the voting machines. They went back and hand counted the votes and it came out in favor of the Sunday alcohol sales.
