ASU Sweeps The SWAC!
It's a statement Alabama State University President Dr. Gwendolyn Boyd made two years ago when Hornet student-athletes won the all three of the Southwestern Athletic Conference's all-sports awards.
In 2015-16, Alabama State has done it again, highlighted by winning the Commissioner's Cup trophy (James Frank Award) for the third straight year as the best all-around sports program in the SWAC. The Lady Hornets won the Barbara Jacket/Sadie Magee Award for the fourth straight year as the best all-around women's program in the conference. On the men's side, the Hornets won the C.D. Henry Award for the second time in three years as the best all-around men's program in the SWAC.
The league office announced the final results today, as Alabama State will officially receive the trophies in June at the SWAC's Spring Meetings in Birmingham.

Man hella' congrats. I'd be bouncing all over the place if it were PVAMU w/ the clean sweep. Expect a few from a "rotten" crew to come in here w/ superfluous rhetoric from 1982 and how they won the SWAC commish cup way back then, as if it's relative now that Bama St is hanging a foot in everyone's azz today. :D
 
Dang....I forgot to give credit where credit is due.

Congrats to sTu showing a GREAT turnaround in overall sports play as you continue to trend upwards. 2nd place finishers in the overall and M and W categories. That big "3" nonsense is just that, nonsense. Seems like there's a NEW big-2 that all should fear. :D

unlike aamu ..you hire coaches who know how to win and fire unproductive coaches who know how to lose..

your athletic dept has truely committed to winning across the board when it comes to sports!

Three yrs. back to back Commissioner's Cup winners, finish 2nd three straight yrs. before that, fourth straight women's all-sports trophy, second men's all-sports trophy in three years ...yeah I'd say that qualifies.
