The Southwestern Athletic Conference announced its 2012-13 All-Academic team. More than 120 Alabama State University student-athletes were named to the team.

In all, 129 Hornets were recognized for maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. Among all SWAC institutions, ASU produced the most honorees listed.

The Alabama State football team led the way with 46 athletes, followed by women's track/cross country (14), women's soccer and men's track/cross country (each with 12), men's golf with eleven, volleyball (10), women's basketball (seven), women's tennis and bowing (each with five), softball (four), women's golf (two), and men's tennis (one).

Women's bowling led the way for ASU with a 3.68 team GPA, followed by men's golf (3.62), women's tennis (3.45), women's soccer (3.35), volleyball (3.32), women's cross country (3.28), and men's tennis (3.22).
 
Kudos to the student athletes for their performance in the classroom. One of the incoming Hornet 3 star lineman told me he scored a 29 on the ACT and had many athletic and academic scholarship offers, but choose ASU because of the Forensic Science program and the athletic facilities.

BTW, he's on the FCS top recruit listing.

Dude you're taking this political correct BS to an all-time high. Folks like MH can say I'll take the high road and folks shrug it off.
With Bama State's history of massive grade changing under Barlow, anything APR related can be second guessed. Now that's a fact.

So you condemn me because I tell the truth? If your school got over 60 percent of your players to average a 3.0 out of sheer honesty, then you should be congratulated however it's really, REALLY hard for one to believe that actually happened.
You guys made your history, not me. I'm just using it as a barometer.

Yet you believe JSU's football team was able to improve academically? Why can't anyone else do it without your disbelief?

Here comes the coalition party.:smh: Where does JSU have a history of CHANGING grades on a massive scale? Since you joined in, please post your supporting evidence.

Come on MH. Why you gotta stoop to being so mean? All I did was speak my mind. Why you gotta be so mean bruh? Is it wrong to ask questions? It's not like I flat out stated that they rearranged some grades like the school was guilty of in the past. I merely brought it up. Was I wrong to ask?:noidea:
