Assault Weapons

Unless someone else posted this, I think all of y'all are missing a key point...the mother had all sorts of weapons in her home yet they didn't help her.

Like I said before, in the mother's case, the chickens definitely came home to roost". I'm sure gun owners are well aware that they can be killed by their own guns and weapons. Gun owners create this delusional world that they live in some type of special protective shield bubble just because they own a gun. Like the old saying goes, "live by the gun, die by the gun", more gun means more opportunities to kill.

Plus, for those of us who are fortunate to survive into old age, we have to consider the mental afflictions...dementia, Alzheimers, etc and make sure that someone responsible keeps us from getting hold of these guns and harming ourselves or someone else. Don't want lil' grandson gansta getting a hold of them either.

I remember when I was a kid my great grandfather had a shotgun posted up in the corner of his bedroom. He and wife lived in Tchula, Miss. Basically as rural as you can get. My cousins and I would play in that room with the gun only feet away from us. We never touched it. I don't think we even knew if it was loaded or not. Nothing bad ever happened thank God.

Then I remember my grandfather telling he had a house full of guns when he was about my age. He grew up in rural Tennessee. He would tell me everyone in his neighborhood knew it, too. Even the KKK. He said folks thought he was crazy. But he said nobody ever tried to jump, though because they knew he was probably packing. LOL.

You are speaking irrational. Crime will not disappear because of guns not being sold. Folks will still kill. They hung Jesus I'm I correct? Didn't he tell them he was here to save their souls?
We know you are not listening. We've been listening, living and observing what you are advocating for a generation and disagree with your position because it's not rational.

Bigman, many on this board are not hearing you and see the world through their eyes only. They want the rest of us to join them in their paranoid hopeless view of the world. Personally, I refuse to live in fear and will support those who oppose this mindset politically.

Arent you the same dude that argued that there isn't a such thing as a circumstance that a man can ever put his hands on a woman? Makes sense now.

No, never made that comment. I'm a person who have witness a close relative taking another individual life with a firearm over some BS. He lived with it all of his life and had regrets until he died. It haunted him everyday even on his death bed

Nothing is going to change the mind of those that think guns provide them some type of invisible Star Trek shield that would protect them from harm. I hope most of them don't think guns would give them a means of going up against the government when the government has weapons that would make the average gun totally ineffective.

If there were a way to remove the 300 million guns here in America then gun control would be a simple issue. Both advocates the right to bear arms and the ones against guns both have valid points. This incident of Sandy Hook happen on the same day my first cousin was killed last year by some guy crazed out on possible "sherm stick". He was shot in top of the head.the bullet went down through his head down to his heart. He was just getting gas and dude just came up to jack him for his car. He then shot through a car with a woman with her kids in the back seat. Shot at police officers. He ran to a nearby ravine where police tried to tase him,he broke free and tried to drown one of the officers. Finally subdued they took him to the hospital and he broke out of the hospital.Police finally subdued this guy. The lady had to have her hand amputated. As for my cousin I have not stop thinking about him laying up in that casket since then. And when a co worker told me what happen just last Friday,it just intensified my memory of it last year. A year before that my mother's house was shot with a weapon that police say the shell came from a 704 or something like that..anyway that gun was too powerful to be on the street. I don't own a weapon but after these 2 incidents and with the attitudes of some these young dudes,I have seriously thought about owning a weapon. The law abiding citizens need to have the choice of what weapon they need to defend themselves. It's sad very sad but America is a tough place and my thing is the criminals should not have the advantage of getting higher caliber weapons than law abiding citizens.I have spoken with city council members about placing police at frequented service stations and it seems like my cousin's death have made a difference because I do see police cars at service station..though not all the time but at least they are making an effort. Man this is so surreal.. anyway..the whole point of my post is again we can't remove 300 million weapons from this country, but at least keep the option open to let law abiding citizens to buy their weapon of choice to protect themselves. I don't like guns ,I like cameras, and I love my life and my mother but if buying an assault weapon will place me at an advantage of some crazed person of some disgruntled criminal that has a weapon that he does not suppose to have.. then it is what it is..so be it. Owning a weapon is not me...but things have gotten pretty testy in my city.

That's life. As long as humans live on the planet earth they will steal, kill, rob, rape, cheat, and so on. If you folks have a problem with it, talk to God about it.
How did it save someone life, by killing others? Talking about an oxymoron.
