Seeing Spots
Joyful Woman!
It has been too painful and too much to type, but I need your prayers to help strengthen me. My 15 year old godson was killed in an automobile accident last Friday. His mother was driving and sustained severe injuries and her friend riding with them was also killed. They were on their way to take him to SU Lab's first football game last Friday. A car cut in front of them and caused the accident. Protocol dictated with multiple fatalities the bodies must be autopsied and the sent the bodies to Jefferson Parish. We agonized until yesterday to find him and then his grandmother, who is a District Court Judge, had to use all of her power to get the autopsy waived and his body released from Jefferson Parish. The storm made it near impossible to locate him and herculean efforts had to take place so we could finally funeralize and bury him. The funeral is tomorrow in the same church I held him in my arms for his dedication to the Lord, the same church where he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized. He had a short life, but it was blessed and he was filled with the Holy Spirit. Here is his obit:<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD class=lgyHeading vAlign=bottom width="55%">

The next thing to happen is, my mother had to have emergency brain surgery to remove a small tumor yesterday and I drove home to Shreveport to be with her and my family. She survived the surgery like a champ and is doing GREAT. Her doctor saw her last night and couldn't believe how alert, moving her left leg that was impaired and how far along she has progressed in just a day! It is a miracle!!!! They are moving her to a room (from ICU) and she is talking, fussing, ordering us around...it's wonderful. We are so grateful to God for His HEALING POWER!!!
All of this in the midst of the hurricane, which tore up a small portion of my fence and the gate, but has devastated NOLA and change Louisiana forever. I have several friends who have lost everything and say they will never go back to New Orleans. I saw my friend Ann in the store in Shreveport and we just broke down. She says he is never going to live in NOLA again. Her entire family, mother, sister and family saying they will never return. OH MY GOD! I am just heartbroken for all of New Orleans. What a great city! And what a tragic moment for all of the citizens.
Even with all this going on, I know God is STILL on the throne. Blessed be the name of JESUS! Let's keep praying, praying, praying.
