There's plenty to do. It's just like any other beach community. Plus, you are very near Norfolk, Hampton, and Portsmouth, VA. A lot of people from the DC, Maryland, and northern Virginia (DMV) go there to hang out on the beach.

I go down there about twice a year. It's a nice chill spot. It ain't South Beach but it's ok. You can get there in about less than 3 hours if you leave from Northern VA before 10am on a Friday.

I haven't been there in a while. The last time I visited Virginia Beach was in 2002 when I lived in Lynchburg, VA. I might have to go check it out soon.

I haven't been there since 1994. I'm sure its changed a lot since then, but even back then it was nice.

I wonder if Captain George's Buffet is still open . . . hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Cee I have been many times. I was stationed in Norfolk. So I know that area really well. Va Beach is just like say Daytona Beach. Bunch of hotels on the strip in Va Beach. Now the whole Tidewater area/Hampton Roads area have alot of things to see and do. Norfolk, Va Beach, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News are all close together there. It's like driving from one suburb to another. Obviously there is a lot of military there. But you can find some nice spots to listen to music and stuff. Seafood there is great. I will post some places you should take a look at.
