The fan who threw a cup of beer at Ron Artest, sparking last Friday's brawl in Detroit, has been identified as a 39-year-old man with a criminal past, according to the Detroit Free Press.
Oakland County (Mich.) prosecutor David Gorcyca reportedly said John Green, a self-employed building contractor from West Bloomfield, was identified from videotape as the man who helped to incite Friday's fight, one of the worst in sports history.
The newspaper says Green has denied doing anything wrong.
