Im not about to argue about this. The US team got exposed for what they really are...............Overpaid, no fundamentalist, crybaby, egotist with no TEAM concept. The 92 all were team players and look what they did...........WON GOLD.

The NBA is turning into an AND-1 tournament, and the WORLD is getting better and stepping up the bar. The US lost cause they couldnt play as a team, they had no fundamentals (pick & rolls, back down passes, screens etc), and couldnt hit a midrange jumper or free thrown.

Now its the officiating???? :rolleyes:
Next it will be.."we didnt have enought nutrients in our body".

Please answer 1 question truthfully .......................

WHY DIDN'T THE WORLD STEP UP THE BAR LAST SUMMER.

The WORLD didn't come within 20 points of the AND-1 players.

The WORLD did not win a SINGLE GAME OUT OF 10 against the AND-1 players..

Could you please explain how these AND-1 players accomplished this against all these INTERNATIONAL WORLD BEATERS that have passed the USA by in Basketball.

I know you won't answer, because I have asked this of everyone beefin' about the USA team and nobody will touch it.

Proof is sitting right there in Athens.

They got beat and embarrassed.

Here is the fact that everybody is missing. These guys that killed the US with 3's wouldn't be able to do that against normal teams in the NBA. Each team has a guy whose sole job is to place defensive havic on 3-pt shooters. TEAM USA didn't have one of those guys. Each NBA team has a 3-pt shart shooter. TEAM USA didn't have one of those guys.

TEAM USA was the best MARKETABLE team they could put together for those players who wanted to play. They got exposed in the exhibition games. Maybe next time, the selection committe can select a more well rounded team, not just the ESPN highlight guys.

What qualifying teams had MLB players? When I say MLB, I mean the guys that you see on TV everyday not minor leaguers. If you look at the players in the Olympics playing baseball there are no Major Leaguers because there season is going on right now (that being the reason why we will never see the top caliber players in International competition. MLB teams don't even allow their top prospects to compete in the Olympics as Jeff Francis the top prospect in the Colorado Rockies organization was not allowed to play for his home of Canada. Instead of pitching in Athens he was getting lit up in Atlanta by my Braves. The makeup of the 2000 USA baseball team which won Gold was drastically different than our current makeup. That team featured Tommy Lasorda as the coach and current MLB players who were top prospects like Ben Sheets and Doug Mientkiewicz. Comparing the baseball and basketball situation is like comparing apples and oranges, because baseball season goes on at the same time as the Olympics. Bud Selig is even on record as saying that he doesn't see the MLB stopping it's season to allow MLB players in.

I say quit making excuses for Team USA and accept the fact that they sent and average team over there and got beat. Point Blank!! You can't over look the fact that no one on Team USA could hit the open jumper consistently and I would think that an NBA player with a 6 year 40 million dollar contract should at least be able to hit an open jumper. I can see why Duncan is upset and fustrated, but he I think he should be fustrated at the organizers of the team and the players that played on the team. I mean come on other teams were leaving those guys open and daring them to make the shots. The international rules have been the same every since we started sending the NBA players in 92 and no one had a problem with it in the past (I wonder why!!). Maybe because when you are beating everyone by an average of 20 points the rules don't matter. Then all of a sudden you lose a few games then everyone wants to look at the rules. Who ever said that the NBA got exposed was correct. Outside of the top 15 maybe 20 palyers in the league I would say that only 25% of the rest of the players are fundamentally sound. The rest depend strictly on Athleticism to get by. Now when you got in International team playing a zone defense and not allowing you to use that athleticism them you need to be able to go back to Basketball 101 (Defense and Hitting Shots). I don't care what the rules are, if you can't play defense and hit shots you will lose every time to a team that can.
