Alcorn to name new Head coach on Memorial Day

I read somewhere a while back that they won't be able to hire alot of assistants. How many to be exact?

Spears was mucking up and we got rid of his ass. Yall didn't like him at TSU and got rid of him. Didn't you say we couldn't and would not get rid of Spears? You are wrong again.
 
Surely my main man, Style does not approve of this. He said it was a sad day in SWAC History when JSU had a white QB.

Dude you got it backwards. We are tired of ya'll being sorry. We tired of ya'll rolling up to the CCC 1-9, 2-8, 3-7 etc.. Ya'll just plain ole sorry and you have a history of losing to JSU just like every other team in the SWAC aside from Grambling. That won't change. JSU will never let you be better than us in ANY way (if that is even possible to begin with). I hope that ya'll can start coming to Jackson with at least 6 or 7 wins and then maybe you will bring 20K fans with you instead of 5K.

The State of Louisiana pays a base salary of $225k-$250k. So if Stump makes $75 to $100k more with a horrible record is that too much?

Spears' ego was his downfall. Now after suing Grambling and being fired from Alcorn he is basically black balled as a coach. $600k will not last forever....

Believe it or not, I think there is a bigger picture here that most are not seeing...

This is just the beginning of starting to transform HBCU's in Mississippi to be more inclusive.....

Hopson will succeed....The college board will make sure he has what he needs to succeed.(within reason that is......)

The state college board want this to work............

Once supporters at the three (HBCU)schools begin to accept change in the sporting arena then they can go to the next step.....

Watch how the next Presidency opening at an HBCU in Mississippi is filled........(there will be some "non-black" candidates for sure)

The president selection process in Mississippi is closed to the public, therefore the final candidate is presented at the end...

This is not necessarily a bad thing. Being more inclussive will allow some of our institutions to survive and get the enrollments

to where they can be self sustaining.

Just my opinion!

Where did you get that information from? Hopson has already told Dr. Brown that he needed to increase the football budget if he wanted to name Hopson as the head coach.
 
How old is Alcorn's President. I like that in the interview that this coach was the only one that asked what he has to work with... So he instead of making excusses like the rest of our coaches, he truly knows what he has gotten himself into. And i like that the president admitted he didnt have a clue on how they where operating
 
Actually, the next HBCU president opening in MS will be Valley. I doubt they get a white President. Did you see how them ninjas acted when she brought in a white CFO from Edward Waters.

I hope JSU gets a white President.

They (Valley) won't know who the person is until the end of the process. And actually I am thinking it will be Valley.

If you think Ms. Valley is revolting against their current President now, you try sending a white candidate down there now. I don't think the IHL will do it but then again, I truly believe the IHL wants to try and close Valley or turn them into some sort of vocational institution.
 
First Alcorn had the white Golden Girls, now a white Head Football coach.

Alcorn I ain't mad at ya'll, ya'll have always been trendsetters in the SWAC, will the Alcorn band play "Play That Funky Music White Boy"?

I am certainly not an expert on the happens in higher education in Mississippi, but this would not surprise me. Mississippi is not the only state for this.

Just to shake things up a bit.....
IHL can give Delta State a "non-white" president and Valley can get a "non-black" president.......
(Since the Delta State job is already open.......)
 
This is my question to some of the JSU people who are upset about the white coach at Alcorn.....

How many white people graduate with PhDs from JSU?

My point is it seems bit odd that you will educate white people but become disgusted when one is hired at an HBCU.....

I keep hearing this same ole lie. How many JSU folks said they were upset about Alcorn hiring a White coach? Can you name more than two?

They joked with us when we had Casey, so we're giving it back to 'em after they hired Coach Bubba.
