I'm a former student at Alcorn State, and I was there during the time Brian Adams was at Alcorn, I had the pleasure to watch him win 3 State championships in a row at The Piney Woods Country Life School. I'm going to say that Brian Adams is the greatest high school basketball player these eyes have ever seen. Rod Walker of the Clarion Ledger did a piece on him called Wednesday Rewind, Brian Adams was in the class of 1996 with Lester Earl, Tim Thomas, Kobe Bryant, Mike Bibby, Jermaine O'neal and he was rated as the #18 best prospect in America, he chose to go to an HBCU when it wasn't cool. Brian, is the most highly recruited athlete in SWAC history and was recruited by Sam Weaver, who they fired after signing a Top 20 recruit and he went to Iowa State if my memory serves me right, Brian Adams saidd he had never even been to Alcorn and knew nothing about the school before he signed, he said he fell in love with Coach Weaver, to be honest with you when they brought Dave Whitney back that was the worst thing that could have happen to Brian Adams because, Whitney hated individual talent, remember he destroyed Eddie Archie are you kidding me??? and to be honest Brian was punished for being talented. I will never in my life question his work ethic because he was the only one that I saw that was always at the gym. Brian Adams was punished because of who he was dating Are You Serious??? We talking about a 19-20 year old kid that didnt have any character issues or grade problems, Brian and Dave Whitney had a personal vendetta, he says he has absolutely no love for Alcorn State, stating he will never returned there for any reason, it was just Whitney wanted no one bigger than him. I had a chance to talk to Brian and he says that it was the worst mistake he ever made. I mean this kid chose between Clemson, Tennessee, Minnesota, Ole Miss, Florida, etc are you kidding me, no one said a word when he got benched at Alcorn, this will go down in my mind as one of the saddest stories in Mississippi sports history, cause we sit up and complian about how we never get players, when you get one you Mistreat the Next Great One, Brian Adams in my opionion could have done what Steve McNair did in football he was that cold, even while at Alcorn he was invited to Michael Jordan Camp twice and went in played in Europe in Germany, Norway, and Portugal. So your going to tell me a kid can play for money Europe, but he cant play in the SWAC, wowwwww, all these old coaches have the mentality that I'm Gone Control These Jokers, when Texas, Alabama, Florida, Georgetown gone let these horses play. I thought I would put that out there, the SWAC will never get a player rated in the Top 20 ever again. To be honest with you this is who they need to do a documentary on, because since 1996 not one Top 20 player in America has signed with the SWAC out of high School, maybe ESPN could do a 30 for 30 he was that special. If you saw him play and didnt like his game You Are A True Hater!!!!!
