ASU is killin' us with the long ball. That Glover kid is going wild. We're moving the ball but we keep stalling. We've got to make some serious defensive adjustments. Put pressure on the QB, make him uncomfortable.

By the way, if ASU is even thinking of hiring another coach, They need to stop thinking. Coe has earned the Coaching Job. He should probably be the SWAC coach of the year. Of course his recruiting prowess is yet to be seen, but given his job on the sidelines this year, he deserves the job.

That won't happen unless he wins the SCG, because the SWAC has that stupid rule about whoever wins the conferance is automatically the coach of the year. You can do other things besides win the conferance to be coach of the year. They haven't realized that and looks like they don't care to.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- Tarvaris Jackson passed for 230 yards and three touchdowns to help lead Alabama State (7-4,5-2) over Tuskegee 48-28 in Thursday's rainy Turkey Day Classic, snapping a four-game losing streak to its Division II rivals.

ASU dominated in the second quarter, first tying the game 14-14 with Robert Randolph's 3-yard run. The Hornets widened the lead with a 17-yard TD pass from Jackson to Chad Lucas at 6:55, followed by a Abrams' 24-yard TD pass to Reginald Glover.

Tuskegee (5-5, 4-4) had entered Thursday hoping to salvage a winning record. They showed promise through the first quarter with a 14-0 lead at 2:19 after a 24-yard TD pass from Terrence Jones. Jones passed for 255 yards Thursday.

The Golden Tigers scored on single runs by Cortland Florence and Lawrence Ervin in the third and fourth quarters respectively, but never regained their lead.

Keldrick Williams, who rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns for Alabama State, scored the final touchdown in the game, a 12-yard run at 9:32.

The Hornets have secured a berth in next week's Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship game. They play the winner of Saturday's Grambling-Southern game.

sources tell me (within the ASU athletic dept) that Coe will not return next year, even if he is asked back.

Maybe he is not returning because of health related reasons...unlike Cosby

I talked to Coach Coe and his wife this morning at the Waffle House in Prattville. He indicated that he was taking some time off and was looking forward to coaching the Hornets in the SCG. He was also hoping that the ASU coaching situation would be resolved shortly so that he could start the recruiting process.
