Alabama commit Landon Collins' mother accuses Saban of violation

Mom and dad may be good people that don't like the b.s. that's gone on with the recruitment of their son. But I have to wonder if some of mom's issues also go towards the race of the girlfriend. I believe she is white and I know plenty of black mothers that would be totally unhappy with their son dating a white female. And if he seemed to be heavy influenced by her then I know it would be a problem. I mentioned this story to 1 and she automatically assumed that may be part of mom's problem b/c it would be hers.

Collins's girlfriend is mixed race (black). Her Mother is black and Father is white. So much for that theory.

She is white then. Father genes is what they go by.

Shid........no they don't. If you don't have a white mother and father you will not be considered white. Did you not see that movie Vanessa Williams was in and they all had the white Daddy down in La?

Also see Lenny Kravitz, Diana Ross's children except the one by Berry Gordy. LOL. All of them are considered black. Traci Ellis Ross Daddy is straight up white.

All the mullatoes in South Louisiana were fathered by white men and I don't know any that been approved as white yet and this started in the 1700's.

It won't matter about Collins anyway as soon as she arrives in Ttown and see all the 5* that is gonna be after her and realizes that Landon is a small fish, she gonna drop him like a bad smoking habit.

Don't say that hometeam....they goin say everything is not about cat...heck this chick is diggin for gold and for spot fore her mom to do something at Bama....

That works both ways.

How many of us left college with our high school girlfriends?

He's a five-star athlete too. It's not like the other girls on campus are going to ignore him. Whether he has a girlfriend or not.

Yep, the exact reason why one shouldn't follow a crush. You just explained the mothers feelings.

There's also a picture circulating around with the GF in front of her brand new black Benz with a crimson bow on it......

Stories like this are why I have no interest in National Signing Day, college recruiting or college athletics from a fan perspective.

Probably the Southern half of the Louisiana Purchase..lol. I guess South Arkansas not that much different from Louisiana.

But anyway as far as for Landon's mother:If you cut her left wrist it would bleed purple and then cut her right wrist it would bleed gold.I hope she don't hurt her son's chance. She got to look at the big picture, and that her son has a chance to play in the NFL. I hope she watched the Marcus Dupree story.

There's money to be made in recruiting. Especially, for writers like you.

I know. Scout, Rivals and other websites make a killing off covering recruiting.

However, I don't follow high school sports at all. Never have. I couldn't tell you anything about the top high school athletes in any sport.

But a lot of the people I know in the business, especially at small newspapers, have a lot of mixed feelings working the high school beat: dealing overzealous/entitled parents, coaches who don't know how to handle the media, and rabid fans is not what I want to deal with from the stories I've been told. You have to deal with a TON of work and a lot of hassles covering high school athletics.

You're right. It is a TON of work. The beast has to be fed. Every day.

But, some of these sites have 20,000 subscribers or more. 20,000 at $100 a year is $2,000,000 not counting other income from the site. :noidea:

I'll just say this. There are some up and coming networks that may rival Scout and Rivals in the future and some other platforms/business models that work well as well. I know a young man who doesn't write half as well as you do who got started about six months ago ... working it by himself. He's getting better because he has to write every day, but when he started he was pure garbage. Building a clientele because he's tapped into a large fanbase. :noidea:

Possibilities ....

:)

Yeah, there are a lot of sites in on the game. I know Wednesday they are going to get a bunch of hits. Over the last few years or so I've seen sites that rank the top middle school athletes. People crave that 24/7 content of everything it seems.

But I've been trying to find my niche the last couple of years like the cat who you mentioned in your post. Bleacher Report, HBCU Fan Nation/TSPN and Football Nation are all sites I've written for in addition to the freelance news stuff I do here in the city. I don't know if writing about high school is my thing. I will say it's a lot easier blogging about pro sports than amateur sports, though.

I don't know. I saw a picture of her and she looked white so I put it out there. But I do understand if you are from South Louisiana you may be mixed w/ anything. Not to be offensive.
