Alabama A&M will host prep football games on campus

School host playoff games here then state championships for all classes rotate between Alabama and Auburn stadiums.

The city of Montgomery and Bama State have bided on the state football super six with games played at Cramton Bowl and the new Hornet stadium. Montgomery's central location in the state, and the support of AHSAA and the Alabama Sports Foundation should make this happen once the current contract with Alabama and Auburn end.

The four 6A schools in the city all play their home games at Cramton Bowl. Bama State now will also be used for Thursday and Friday night games. I have paid for parking for high school games since the 1970s.

Not trying to be funny but aesthetically Crews is a horrible looking stadium. Once those families go through the gates and look waaaay out on that field trying to find their child. Good luck with that....interesting
It looks as if there were plans to put a track in it. Tracks belong around the practice field. Stadiums like that are the worst for viewing a football game.

Good deal A@M......... Bring in the extra money.
One question...................Whats the special deal with Artificial Turf being the deal breaker. Whats wrong with the natural grass surface?
If you played 2 to 3 games a week on a natural grass field you will not have any grass between the 20 yard lines in October. Crampton Bowl suffered from this before the artificial turf was put in. Most small colleges don't have the money to re-sod a field every year.

The Super 6 isnt leaving Bryant Denny or Jordan Hare Stadium for a long time...These are stadiums that most kids dreamed of playing in their entire lives and the look on their face when they walk into the stadium is priceless.

I don't think the decision will be left to the players. It's a business decision and the incentives the city have offered has gotten AHSAA director Steve Saverees and the Alabama Sport Foundation attention.

Unless you are handicap on the visitors side there isnt a bad seat in Crews.
I've only seen pictures and videos of a game at Crews, It seems as if you were a mile away from the field. I never liked viewing a game at a field with a track around it. If you ever decided to expand the stadium I would suggest you tear down the visitor side and shift the field toward the home side and rebuild the visitor side.

As JC stated, once the current contract is up, I seriously believe the Super 6 will move to Montgomery, for the very reasons he stated . . . . also for political reasons. With Bama States's new state of the art stadium with 20 luxury skyboxes, and a cozy 25,000 or so seats, its the perfect venue for a small to moderate sized football event. Also, the proximity to newly upgraded Cramton Bowl, would allow for earlier games to be played there, and championship games to be played at ASU . . . .

Let me say that I am in no way attempting to bash A&M or its stadium. I think its a really nice stadium (I have been there), and a credit to them for having the vision and foresight to build a stadium on campus some years ago. I'm simply pointing out what others have pointed out, that there seems to be a great distance from the stands to the field.

As you can see from the picture below, there appears to be about 35 yards or more from the stands to the sidelines, on both sides.

Amazing, you country bumpkins from the gump finally get a stadium now yall wanna talk trash.

No trash talk from me Cee. Congrats to the Bulldogs for securing high school games on their campus. However, it is nothing new for Bama State. We use to host high school games at old Hornet stadium back in the 70s and will do it again once our new stadium is ready.

I have attended games at Crews and my complaint is the distance from the field. For a old person like my self, I need binoculars to see what happening on the field. I feel the same way about attending games at Southern. The last time I went to a game at Southern, we were seated in the end zone and could only see half of the field. I swore I would never return due to that factor. I learned later from SU posters I need to purchase my tickets from Ticket Master instead of the ones they send to Bama State ticket office.

I will say again there is not a bad seat in Crews unless you are handicap and sitting on the visitors side. The only people Ive heard complain is people on here...If you need binoculars then its probably YOUR eyes and that would be a personal problem.

Well, you'll love the view at BBVA/Tiger Stadium in Houston. :D
