Future Athletic Director
SWAC Coach of the Year
Yes you can make a case for Totten at MVSU for turning around that miserable team and making them competitive. You can even make a case for Doug at GSU for continuing to win championships and dominate the conference. But seriously how can you not give it to the first year head of the Bulldogs. He took a lousy offense and a tremendous defense into each game and continued to win. He took his team to a championship in this first season when not much was expected of AAMU but he put together a game plan that put his team in position to win every game. The games AAMU lost were only because they displayed pitiful execution and thats not on the coach its on the players. So by going 8-3 and possibly 9-3 winning the SWAC title he deserves Coach of the Year honors. Winning the SWAC championship should not be lone factor in determining the award it should go to the coach that instilled a winning attitude were previously it was not in place.
