As a tuba player of 37 years, I take it that the sousas had first game jitters. I almost got out of this thread after the first note. Maybe some of the section could not see the conductor, which would amount to poor preparation since they knew they had that note right on the downbeat. Like I said, first game jitters. It does happen.
I'm glad I listened to the rest. I thought the overall sound of the band was very good. It will be nice to hear 5 weeks from now when all of the bands are breathing better.
