A SNAFU in the making

See how McNeese sports administration in their "infinite" wisdom is handling the SRO ticket situation. If Southern was waiting to see how McNeese handled the Grambling crowd before signing a home and home contract, McNeese can hang it up now. After Saturday night, they won't be coming to Lake Charles.

McNeese to Sale SRO Tickets 15 Minutes before Gametime

Note: The above link will be good for only Tuesday. After that go to the following link to find the story:

Lake Charles American Press Sports

How do I feel about it? :redhot:

McNeese:
I'm not sure what it takes but you guys need to seriously look at moving a SU/Mcneese(if it ever happens) matchup to ULL. It would actually be more lucrative for McNeese unless ULL charges a ridiculous fee.

Just a thought..

Jag Voice,

We've come to the conclusion over here that presenting progressive ideas to our present AD is like beating your head against a wall. You don't get anywhere and all you end up with is a headache.

This is not meant to be smack. It is just an honest opinion.

But truth of the matter is, Southern is not worth calling upon another local stadium to move the game. Especially if it means moving it to another campus stadium. The ROI (return on investment) will not be that much greater, plus McNeese would stand to lose a home field advantage.

I guess you would have to weigh the additional revenue minus the cost of stadium rental against what you would make at home.

And there is that home field advantage factor. I would like to see us keep playing home and homes with both Grambling and Southern. Big crowds at home and the road trips wouldn't be that far.

I WISH IT WAS MEANT TO BE SMACK BECAUSE IF NOT YOU GOT TO BE SMOKING CRACK

IF YOU FEEL THE MSU/SU GAME WILL BE THAT BIG.
*CHARGE MORE FOR THE TICKETS FOR THAT GAME. $2 OR $3
*GET THEM TEMP. BLEACHERS FOR EXTRA SEATING
*GET A SWEET TV DEAL!!!!!

HOW MUCH MORE DOES THE ULL STADIUM HOLD? UNLESS IT HOLD 15K MORE I WOULDN'T EVEN BOTHER. ESPECIALLY WITH THE FEES AND EVERYTHING INVOLVED.

IMHO

Well 72, all you have to do is look at Northwestern's decision to move their home game to S'port. Every year we played up there, we broke their stadium attendance record. If a hypothetical game between SU-McNeese was played at ULL (Capacity 31K), I don't think a home advantage would be lost to either team. I do think other than wanting to play a game at "home"; nothing else would be lost.
A great opportunity would be lost to showcase this game to the Louisiana masses, as it will be this year for your game with Grambling.

Exactly!

But you see, SU folks don't understand the business side of things. They would turn down the chance to play a quality opponent just because the other team's stadium can't occupy them.

ULL stadium holds about 14K more than McNeese. I don't know how much it takes to rent the place and you probably don't either.

I would think the revenue from the extra seating would outweigh the extra expenses but McNeese's AD would have to make the call.

Exactly! And it would not make sense to seek out another schools stadium when McNeese has a stadium of its own. On top of that, there is a chance that ULL may have a home game the same week.

Whatever profit could be made, it really isn't worth the headache.

Will you Jags saying my statement is totally false explain when SRO tickets are made available??? The only time I had to use 'em was JSU-SU in 1990. They didn't start selling until close to game time.

ALL WISE AND ALL KNOWNING...WHERE IN THE H@LL DO YOU
COME UP WITH THIS STUFF??.....STUPID.
SO I GUESS NWSTATE ISN'T A QUALITY TEAM...DANG BRO PUT THE PIPE DOWN...PLEASE

Well, there was a story in the local paper today. The writer interviewed the Southern AD, who assured the writer that the home and home series contract will be signed. First game will be at McNeese on Sept 6 next season. That means next season McNeese will open at Grambling and then come home and play Southern.

Here's a link to the American Press Sports site where the link to the story can be found. I'm not going to try to link directly to the page with the story because the AP changes its links daily and it would be wrong tomorrow.

Look son, I don't know you. You are new here. I have been on this board for a loooooong time. And many of the statement I make are based on statments made by others in the past. So if you don't understand, it would be in your best interest to just sit back and watch and slowly bring your self up to speed.

Now, since you bring up NWst. I do believe it was your own band director who decided not to take the band to Natchitoches because he didn't want to the band to sit behind the end-zone of the field.

It didn't matter to his dumb arse that the band would only take away seats from other Nation supporters. He was only thinking about himself. NWst went waaaaayyyy beyond what was necessary to try to accomadate that fool, and he still showed his azz!

So its not like I am just making this up.

SOG, you are telling half truths. Yes Doc did not go because of seating. At least Doc can afford to go to every game. I won't even go there about the World -Shamed always asking for money. Anyway, NWLA St prez and AD assured Doc that would not happen again. Don't get made because our band director don't allow YT to screw with him. You see things got changed huh? Since you didn't play in the band you don't know how it feels to jammed up in a little stadium for 4 quarters. It aint no fun.

So what was the half truth that I told? You just repeated everything I said.

Some people are so quick to defend their school that they fail to use logic. But for Southern, I am not surprised

SOG,
You made it sound like Doc did it out of malice and spite. Those kids did not want to be jammed up like that. It was not Doc being selfish. Plus he didn't show his dumb azz is what I am referring to. BTW how would the band take seats away from the fans? Could not the fans sit in the same endzone seats they were jamming the band in? Alot more comfortable than a band? Just asking. Actually NW State folks love our band and they were just a disappointed as our fans that they were not there that year. But again it is not an issue anymore. I know you GSU folks have a hard on for SU, but could you let it go.

SOG, at least our band show up and don't try to get the home team to pay their expense. Even McNeese and Nicholls smacked you on their board. Plus they all agreed that Southern band is better.

JR,

You can play the dumb role on this if you want to. I know you know better. Why shoud NWst. take away premium seats away from paying fans just to make the band happy? But hey, if thats the approach you want to take, so be it. But I know you of all people know better.

BG,

If validation from YT makes you feel better then you might as well accept something else they said about Southern.

They say that SU football sucks. They also said that Nicholls St. is a better program than SU despite the fact that it is a celler dweller for the SLC. And based on the way they (Nicholls State) have manage to hang you out to dry over the years...I agree with them.
