Well alright now. Thankfully I've only come across one scorned chick trying to stand in the way of things. She ended up backing down. Now I have KNOWN some scorned broads that made me smh.

I am single because I have certain major criteria that have to be met in order for me to even consider marrying a man. I am a single parent (child is 23 now). Her dad and I decided that we just wouldn't work as a unit so we parented apart (worked fine; she's a senior at JSU). In raising her, I knew what kind of man would be a father. No one wanted to be a dad, just a boyfriend. As a result I didn't have very many relationships. I am now in a position to wait for someone for me and not for her. This brings a different criterion that the man must meet. Hope that answers your questions...

Im single because its what I want at this time. I've been asked twice, the first time I was too young, the second time, he wasnt what I wanted in a husband, although my family loved his stinky drawlz... Now when ever, the day comes for me to become Mrs. X, then that will be the day. No need in adding to the percentage of the divorce rate.

verto, my "reasons" are similar to yours, so I limited the committment and number of relationships because I did have a child. I purposely stayed single until I found a man that wanted to love me and my son. I see that we also similar in that we are in very significant relationships, but not married. BTW, your sweetie is CUTE, FINE, and NICE! :swink:

I am single now, but I do intent to get married one day, probably when our children are no longer minors. Parenting presents a different and definite level to relationships.

Amen Incipience...some people get so excited and in love with the idea of being in love and playing house...until they can't take a step back and see that that's exactly what they'll be doing in the long run...adding to the statistics...and possibly ruining several more lives.

But, to each their own...not knocking those who are married...but don't knock me for having some sense and waiting recognizing that I was not ready...I'm a work in progress.:lecture: :)

You're right :idea: , but I meet Sweet's criteria. :D I am unmarried and I am not legally separated. My marital status is divorced, so I thought I could answer, especially after I read vertojsu's response.

I am very much taken as AAMUPW describes herself!

Actually, I disagree, except for those threads that pose queries having to do with male-female relationships, I think we have good discourse and networking here. I rather enjoy that.

I got a situation similar to what you said up there ^^ with family liking somebody but don't know half the shat he has done. And the reasoning of this thread. :look: But let P~call it a "study" :lol:
