Okay, I know alot of A&M supporters are going to be mad at me, but I am speaking honestly and only sharing my opinion. I truly believe that it is time for AAMU to get a new band director. I was very disappointed in A&M's performance at the Magic City Classic and my family and friends and the other people sitting next to us were in agreement. We were all looking like, :xeye: what just happened. And I have felt this way for a long time about A&M's band and their performances. There is no excitement to say the least. I know that Dr. Wesley has done some great things for A&M's band, but AAMU needs something new and fresh. I believe Dr. Wesley has been a director at A&M since the 70's. It's time for a change.

Man, for a state (ALABAMA ) that has such "horrible" bands everyone sure is always concerned with us ( both Bama STate and A&M)

In defense of Wesley, you can't blame him for the performance of the band at the MCC this year, simply because he can only do so much. The sound was there, it was the execution and the creativity of the halftime show. I don't know how it is now but when I marched we the band members took care of that part of the show. Thats just my two cents :noidea:

This is a very touchy subject for most people but some people will agree with you. It seems as though Mr. Wesley is about ready to give it up. He and I had a conversation back in July and that was the first time I had ever heard him mention the word "retirement" Its kinda like Bobby Bowden and Florida St.

I totally disagree that AAMU needs a new band director, but I do agree with someone's statement that it was not Mr. Wesley's fault, but mainly it was due to the creativity and show planning committee of the band. How well was the show executed, and the theme of the show and creativity has alot to do with it. Mr. Wesley is an extremely nice person, who knows his stuff. He offered me a full scholarship to go to AAMU, but I declined and chose TnSt instead.

Alot of people have said that Tennessee State needs a new director, and that is just plain ridiculous. As stated earlier, the show committee needs to plan something exciting for a major Classic game, one that will carry over good with the crowd. Also the announcer of your band plays a vital role to your performance as well.
