2011-12 FBS Bowl Season

Nonchalant

Hail, Hail To Thee...
The Bowl Selection Show is on ESPN right now:

Sugar Bowl: Michigan vs. Virginia Tech
Fiesta Bowl: Stanford vs. Oklahoma State
Orange Bowl: Clemson vs. West Virginia
Rose Bowl: Wisconsin vs. Oregon
Champs Sports Bowl: Florida State vs. Notre Dame
Outback Bowl: Georgia vs. Michigan State
Capital One Bowl: Nebraska vs. South Carolina

Can't have more than 2 teams from the same conference in the BCS bowls.

LSU vs. Alabama knocked Arkansas out of the BCS picture.

That sucks, especially given that 3 teams from the SEC-West were just ranked #1, #2, and #3 just last week.

I'm looking forward to the Virginia Tech vs. Michigan game. Should be a good one.

Sidenote: I'm glad USC won't be banned next year. They have a really good squad.

These rules fugged over the Hogs...damn shame.

Actually, if Georgia beats LSU, the Bulldogs would have been in the Sugar Bowl.

Besides, the Sugar Bowl is not contractually obligated to take a team from the SEC if it not the conference champion or the next team in line has been picked up by another bowl game.

This year the SEC champion is playing for the national title, and the runner-up (Georgia) lost. The third SEC team (Bama) was picked to play in the NCG.

Michigan is a better brand and more attractive than Arkansas anyway.

But Big Ten football SUcks

Plus Arkansas let Ohio State beat them in last year Sugar Bowl.

Yep. I think the real disrespect came to #7 Boise State. They just can't get a brake. They're 11-1 and have to play Arizona State in the Bootleg Bowl.

Gator Bowl: Ohio State vs. Florida

Not really....Arkansas fans travel...plus I believe Arkansas would beat the hell out of Michigan if given the chance.

If you are one of the six-figure grossing suits who run the Sugar Bowl, you are telling me that you would take Arkansas over Michigan? It's just a business decision, bro. You don't pass up a traditional power with a brand name.

This one is going to get so much attention. They just couldn't resist this matchup. It should be a packed house in Jacksonville.

I was very surprised that they took Virginia Tech. Kansas State should feel bad too, they are at #8 and are in an FBS conference.

Michigan State has more of a gripe than Arkansas. They finished ahead of Michigan in the Legends Division, but the Wolverines go to a BCS bowl game without even playing in the B1G Championship Game.

Yea, we got fugged. But that decision was all about the money. Michigan will bring more money than us.

Sugar Bowl: Michigan vs. Virginia Tech

More bullshat.
2 teams that are not even ranked in the top 10 are going to the BSC Sugar Bowl. It's all a popularity contest. The BEST teams don't mean shat to these selection committees. They been ramming a rematch of LSU vs Alabama down the fans throats for 2 weeks so I guess 3 SEC teams in New Orleans for bowl games would be pushing it. :smh:

The rules state that only 2 teams max per conference can play in BCS games. The SEC has 4 top 10 teams, so there ya go. 3 more teams had to make it in their place, plus Boise's spot since they didn't win their conference (TCU). Then Clemson won the ACC as the 15th ranked team.

Another reason this farce called the BCS is garbage. The BCS got more hypocrisey than anything I know.

As for Boise not winning their conference, Alabama is playing in the biggest BCS game of them all without winning their conference. Funny how you got to be a conference winner in one case but it don't matter in another case involving the same BCS system and rules. :smh:
