it's really close in the bottom half, but that's just how i'd break the ties....

p.s. Jared....grambling did give su the business at the Bayou Classic BOTB.
HEY and NECK were the only songs that saved SU from an all out blowout.

sorry.
can't rank GSU over SU though...not for the whole season...that was just their night.
You really need to get out more... Alcorn or GSU over AAMU... you are crazy. AAMU split Alcorn head to the white meat in Sippi last year. GSU is 0-2 against the MMW.

*yawn*..these are 2004 predictions.

This is based off of what I THINK!
Griffin recruited his arse off this spring...Alcorn is supposed to have their largest band in 6 or 7 years. I think they are gonna start coming around to their old self. Alcorn impressed me at the BOTB in jackson last year...I don't know what happened to them at the Capital City Classic. LOL. but seriously...Griffin is about to turn it around again.....

Grambling got my vote at the Bayou Classic BOTB. They made a huge step up toward the end of the season last year. Them dayum white shoes and slaw arse arrangements are more than I can bare sometimes....but I think GSU may finally be making some progress....that's why I pick them #6.

I hear ALABAMA A&M is going to be even smaller....which will equal them being EVEN MORE SLOPPY than they always are to me. shrug. Not one of the top bands in the conference to me...sorry. ....

p.s. I said the bottom half was really, really close.... I can't really pick a huge difference between most of those bands...except for Valley....they are a clear LAST PLACE...but the others can go either way...so if you say AAMU is better than Gram or Alcorn...that's understandable...just not to me. A&M is sloppy...(sound wise)...very sloppy.

get off that "GET OUT MORE" sh*t. I'm a loyal JSU fan.... You know if JSU has a game 99.9% of the time that's where i'm going to be...now if that prevents me from going to alot of SLAW ARSE matchups i'm sorry...but I'm JSU to the HEART. lol. Some point in the season I will see all those other bands anyway....last year was rare I didn't get to see A&M at all. Just heard about them waxing Alcorn.

The only bands going to all Jackson State games prevent me from seeing...that I want to see...are Bethune Cookman and North Carolina A&T....I see everyone else atleast once a year.

I don't agree with Alcorn but I could possibly see GSU over AAMU because AAMU won't have any numbers and they are straight shat on the field.

Ok because a band improves that means they done better... Ya know I never looked at it like that before :xeye:

Don't think I ever will, you sound more and more like you are from a high school that always had room for improvement..Or you marched in JSU band anytime in the late 90's. Maybe that's why you feel the way you feel..

But it's all cool though.

what does being smaller have to do with anything???? you stuck on the size thing. AAMU doesnt NEED woodwinds.... so there are probably 5 clarinets and 3 piccs.... so of course they are going to LOOk SMALLER... no changes soundwise. Tenn State said the same thing last year about size and came up here with over 50 clarinets and about 20 piccs... they LOOKED big but didnt SOUND big.

Man last year SU, TxSU, JSU, P.V., and GSU were louder than AAMU. And they suck on the field. They're brass #'s ain't high

Exactly, it mean to do better than what THEY usually do... It has nothing to do with no one else....Just that party alone...

if you were IN the band during the game... how can you say that??? SU didnt sound loud at ALL from where I was sitting in Mumford... during the 5th I moved directly in front of SU and it was a different story... everybody on AAMU's side was saying the same thing.....I didnt hear TxSo last year... I heard GSU and PV... and I will say from what I heard you are wrong. BUT we all have opinions.

CJ, you must not have seen Grambling last year ?
and where did you see AAMU last year??? and Aaron you just be runnin off at the mouth anyway...I remember sitting beside you in 2002 and you said "VALLEY is way louder than AAMU".... i aint pay you no attention... but you was singin a different story after AAMU put a foot in JSU in the 5th.... I know you will come back and change your story but I was beside you in the 5th... I know your reaction and what you said. I am sure you will put a twist on it though.

NEVER. i didn't make the comment about gsu being louder than AAMU. lol. though it's probably true from what i heard at the BC.

u forget i don't base things off VOLUME anyway. some of the NASTIEST sounding bands are VERY loud.

....what did I say in the 5th...tell me....? lol.

AND YOU BOUT AS WORST AS MIGHTY HORNET (johnson c. smith prediction) IF YOU THOUGHT I THOUGHT VALLEY WAS LOUDER THAN A&M FOR REAL. LMAO!!!!!! nig**a u know TALKIN' **** when you hear it. lol.

Let's keep in MIND that these are OPINIONS, people!

No one's opinion is above the next person, whether you're a musician, a band director with degrees in music education, a band head or just a SWAC lover ----- YOUR thoughts/predictions of the bands in the SWAC for this upcoming season are still just an opinion. So, don't waste your time defending your thoughts/feelings or trying to get someone to see what you see. No one cares... I know I don't!

Let's just let the bands speak for themselves this fall through their horns and what they showcase on the field/stands.

:D

Just thought I'd post this again.
It's amazing and funny to me how some of ya'll still don't know the difference between facts and OPINIONS. :smh:

Psycho how many of those bands listed were sitting were AAMU was last year when you played them? From where we were seated you weren't loud either. Folks in the band were saying "them dudes ain't blowin'. They ain't loud". I've been in Mumford stadium enough times to know that isn't true. From that corner you are not going to get the TRUE volume of a band.

You see it on band tapes everyday. Look at a SU/JSU '96 game tape. I was at that game, and I couldn't hear what they were playing (in person) most of the time. So I didn't tape them. If AAMU would have made the SCG you and A LOT of people would be saying otherwise.

Sure I bet you couldn't hear us in 96.....Especially at the SU/JSU game... You right... :dizzy: :smash:

My brother you done lost your mind... Not saying I agree with everything Psycho is saying about the other bands....But say what you have to say about SU to get your point across I guess.... :|

The fact that people don't realize is that when the visiting band is at Mumford they are actually facing us while we face straight ahead. Believe me TxSU was bringing that natural smoke from 130 yds away, P.V. was sitting similar to the way we sit at mumford and they were loud.

5. AAMU= (6.6)- This group can not stay consisted. They also had their games. At the Magic City Classic, Ala. St gave this group the business, so did JSU. TnSU gave them a GOOOOOOOOD run, but they prevailed barely.

Sounds like you have been drinking out in the midday sun again with these predictions? :dizzy:

Don't count out THE OCEAN from the top of list. I don't expect them to be the number one band this year in the SWAC. However, with their schedule and amongst others things, I know they will upset quite a few bands this year. Remember, you heard it hear first, they will bring the FUNK !!!!!

Quietstorm prediction
1. JSU / PVU / SU

Only head to head battles could decide accurate placement, it could go either way.

4. TxSU
5. Pine Bluff
6. GSU
7. Alcorn

:shame: Everyone is going to be somewhat biased when replying to this thread. :argue2: If u have any pride in your program u will be biased.
