Dude, when it comes to halftime, I have personally seen the BOOM wax SU in 1999 in Jackson, 2000 in New Orleans, there was no halftime in 2001, (I honestly don't recall 2002 in the Dome but I know we were rockin the Dome and poppin collars...lol), in Jackson in 2003, in Jackson in 2006 and in 2008. Get over yourself. If you want to talk about gettin back to the old style of play....SU ain't the same either. Admittedly, that SU sound even back in 1999 was intimidating but now.....it's blah! When ya'll played "Can you feel it" back in 1999, you could feel it. Ya'll need to put that song back in the box now. The reason you hate the BOOM so much is that we compete with you and people like us. Again, get over yourself...and LUV da BOOM!

Don't ever mention 99 SU the way we CREASED a JSpoo twice in football and MOST definately in BAND.... It was so band.. we had yall student body writing letters DEMANDING something be done about how we embarrased you all.. and low and behold...Paul Adams ain't want to change that was coming forced by SU 99 and he went to Norfolk...And all of a sudden 2000.. JSU trying to out power folks like they DADDY...


And we all know you COULD FEEL us in 99.. but we were barely able to hear JSPoo from across the field... And we did the step one drill and WAXED a JSPoo...

Stop saying I know nothing about band/music....lol Anyway, most people overlook the fact that the direction the BOOM started going in 1998 and 1999 was NOT the Sonic BOOM....though musical, we always had volume. Adams was trying to take ALL of the volume from us. I have no idea what was going on in those years but I am glad he left.

...and your band was great in 1999 BUT we ain't talkin about stands or sound here. We are talkin about halftime as the original clip in this thread that the dumb decider was raggin on was a halftime clip.

Speaking of out-powering people, when is SU going to go back to that or are those days long gone?

It's not SU's fault other band got tired of being "musical" while we were "musically" busting their arses... If bands are going out getting 60 tubas, 30 Baritones.. 50 bones.... What do you expect?!?!:retard:

That's them if they decide to sound aweful "trying" to out power a well balance power machine band like SU.. Which is powerful because "STRONG" players, arrangements and our instrumental philosophy.

And why you want me to stop saying "you" don't know anything about band/music when it is obvious you don't? :noidea:

You may know more than some of the Jstankers like Crit and a few others..

JSU has never gotten tired of being musical. We have always had that perfect mix of musicality and volume...until it seems that Adams tried to exert too much influence and make us sound like FAMU trying to play a rap song. You don't have to be musical to play "Hay".... :confused: FAMU is a musical band but is pure comedy listening to them play something like "Big Ballin". JSU is adaptable....we took heed to the words of Darwin. :D

A musical band should be able to play any genre of music, from classical to rap.
 
What it all boils down to is preference! Bands have different interpretations of the songs they play, it's the way of the world! It's sad that some closed mind people haven't learn to accept that, the first thing they do is hate or bash the band or the arrangement like they can do better, but i guess that's how they're raised! The crazy thing is, the main people that criticize, don't have a clue on transposition, root positions, chord structures, voicing, orchestration and arranging period etc! LMAO! FAMU has a great program peeps can hate all they want to but they get the job done!:retard:
