$2000 per Household for Katrina; $200,000 for Gaza Settlers

I posted a thread in the Katrina forum asking how much was enough...I think $2000 is a small amount considering all the monies that are being donated...

I heard on TJMS this morning that a woman used her $2000 card to purchase a $800.00 Louie Vuitton(sp) purse. What do you think of that? All Tom could say was,"my people,my people"......!!

Are you suprised?

I am surprised because President Bush stated that the fedrel government's recovery efforts would not be descrimintory. I thought that he would stand by his word.

Honestly BW, I don't think it's my buisness.
The money these people are recieving shouldn't have strings attached
(moral or otherwise). It's hardly enough to begin with...and if that's her
choice, then that's her business. It's illogical to me....but it is what it is.
And that's not even newsworthy really. It's just one of those, "let's run this
story to make us look less insensitive" pieces that have come out of
that "cover-up" place from the ultimate cover-up administration.

To me, what is newsworthy is the glaring discepency between 2000.00 & 200,000.00. <-------That's what's up!
Of cousre this isn't the end of money for these survivors but that's a huge difference (between Americans and foriegners).

If you really believed that then "Read my Lips"...
"You are getting very sleepy.... :teleport:
Fed-Ex your wallet to Astrya Richard..... :teleport:
Would you like to buy a bridge?.... :teleport:
I'll give you these shinny beads for your house..."

I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist..... :angel2:

My fiance( who works at victoria secret) told me a lady tried to buy $1500 worth of clothes from Victoria Secret and they refused to sell her the merchandise..the clerk even called her manager and was told if she had sold that customer the clothes she would have been fired.

Ok to look at this in a different perspective. There are 7k-9k settlers. While there are at least 40k displaced residents from NO.(Im sure more) The monies that will be given can not equal to the gaza settlers because this is on a much larger scale. Not saying that $2000 is enough. But it just cant be the same.

$200,000..... schaytttted, we're still waiting on our FORTY ACRES & A MULE! :whine:

TruBluJAG,
Speaking of which, I think this is an outstanding
time to present the case for reperations. Were I
a representative I'd be intorducing legislation on
the floor to. How is it that everyone wronged by this
nation recieved a monetary reward for their pain
except the people wronged the most (and the most
often)? It just ain't right! Our people deserve the
monetary equvilant of 40 acres and a mule today + interest.
That's what's right.....
