Kevin works as a freelance photographer. Therefore, he's not doing "his work" for "free" all the time.

Also, I believe Kevin takes those pictures, because that's a personal interest and not so much as that there is a need as you all would like to believe. Believe it or not, JSU has an official photographer by the name of Freddie Norman. However, we do appreciate Kevin sharing his work with us. :D

And P~, your reply isn't necessary--- seeing as though this post is being made in the Smack Board and you don't respond to women. Love you. :kiss:

The only people that was PAID me are....

the SWAC office for several events

and PV!!!!!!!!!!!
For the 2007 SWAC Women's Basketball Championship and the 2007 SWAC Baseball Championship


Jackson State was paid me ZERO!!!!


Yes Freddie Norman is the official photographer....
But he does not cover every event and does not have all of the pictures that I do..........

It is a shame that SOME schools think stuff is SUPPOSE to be give away. I guess some people think MY TIME is FREE.

There I said it....The REAL TRUTH is out.............

even the the people from the Honda saw this and are paying me BIG for the 2008 Honda Battle of the Bands.........

What does that mean? When they see you, they ask you to take pictures?

Advice: If you want to get paid for your work, go directly to the source and request a meeting and ask to be officially placed on their free-lance workers list. Otherwise, you really are working for free and shouldn't expect to get compensated.

Note: Every media outlet or PR office is not going to jump at the chance to get your work, if you don't reach out to them, especially when they have a professional already on staff and/or can rely on the Clarion-Ledger for "automatic" professional coverage.

And GUD, you can stop with the JSU hate. Because you know black folks everywhere will take advantage of using anybody's services for free if that person allows them to.
Right now-- somewhere, GSU has a die-hard fan who volunteers their time/services in some kind of capacity, and they're probably batching about not getting recognition or getting paid, too. :lol:

Please help me understand how it's not right. You only get taken advantage of, if you allow it.
If Kevin hasn't sat down and met with them to request/demand payment, then of course, they're going to keep asking him to take pictures for free if they see him standing around with a camera. :xeye:

What would be wrong is if he had an agreement in place, took pictures that they ACTUALLY USED and they didn't pay him. Now that's wrong.

If you want to be treated as a professional photographer, you got to step your game up. If that's cruel (:wavey: @ GR), too bad. That's reality in the business world that surrounds Media/Photographer/PR. Don't get mad and talk about revenge when you haven't done your own part to get paid.


If PV is willing to pay Kevin for his services, Kevin should jump on that! :tup: :tup: I say, "go where the money is!"
